To save as much time as possible I thought lets come out of Frame Shift as near to the station as possible, that was my first and last mistake, well I did come out of FS very near in fact in the superstructure of the station itself!

So after bouncing around for a few minutes with me trying to find a way out and my hull now down to 3% I found a gap and space I headed for that area and was finally clear I then fired my turbo boost........unfortunately in my panic I had accidently hit my reverse thrust, Doh!

I know, people in the station were standing with there noses right up to the windows to see if I was going to make it out, they then cheered as I cleared the structure only to reverse back in to it again and explode

That has happened to me a cou0ple of times.
Next time, just save and quit, then come back in the game and you'll be a couple of km off the station.

When I first played the game I thought the idea of approaching the station was to wait until you were as close as possible in SC before pressing "J", so I was waiting until my distance to the station was less than 50km and coming out of SC. I quickly stopped doing this after dropping out of SC so close that I had to immediately pull up to avoid a collision.

Now I just wait until it says "safe disengage" and make the rest of the journey (usually about 15-20k) at space normal speed.

It seems a lot easier to end up inside the docking cylinder or in the structure of the stations now when trying this. I'm experimenting to see if I can find an exit distance that's (reasonably) consistently closer than 20km but doesn't end in death so often.

when the walking around extension is there , I hope its possible to see your landing goofs from the station.
think I cant get enough of these sights and let the game run when ever I'm home.
it would be like I live in the station.

Y'know I'm starting to think they should have large interdiction field generators and anyone that gets caught is fined. Or large high speed tracking guns...
