Ok, first off, I'm not really creating this with the intention of starting a discussion. As such, I'll most likely not reply if anyone here decides to comment further. Consider this a rant.

I really do NOT understand all the people on here who are complaining about ED - "it's not a game" or "it's fine for an 80's game but thats not what a modern MMO is meant to be". You know what? If you don't like it, DON'T PLAY IT!!! Noone is making you start the game, log on, and play. Honestly, just go away and play something else if you dont like it OK?

Lets keep the forum clear for those people who DO want to play the game, warts and all, have questions, or suggestions for improving the game and making it better.

Coming on here and moaning about the game, and how you don't want to play it is just a waste of everyone's time.

Id play the game if it didn't have the depth of a game from 1984.

Suppose i just wont be playing it, the older versions have more fun value anyway for nostalgic reasons, also have as much depth and game play.

good idea, clear the forum of anyone who says the games boring or dull. This always works well to improve gameplay...

Because if everyone had that opinion this game would die a very quick death with a few people playing it as their own multiplayer world just shooting up their friends or whatever. Everyone who writes something on this forum has something useful to contribute. And most people who bother to write on this forum want the game to improve and get better. I think most people here are complaining because they can see the game is not a great experience presently, there is potential but there is a massive amount of work yet to be done. I think most of us just want to hear something from David Braben that reassures us about their plans to get this game improved. In fact the people who are killing this game are the ones that are saying if you dont like this game the way it is go away. BEcause once people do actually start going away the game you play now is doomed for certain. Wihtout a lot of people to buy extra content this game will just fade away into obscurity as a failed experiment. You want that do you?

Censorship is bad and this thread simply serves to antagonise people further. Really is this the best you can do to support the game?

You must admit, it's very 'meta'.

Could be worse. Someone today made a thread stating that since the game was unfinished he demanded a refund. 50 replies! This is the real issue. People create gripe posts, but they aren't allowed to die a natural death. We jump on the bandwagon and spend 20 pages telling them how wrong they are.

I've made threads with questions about game mechanics, srs bznss, and got 0-1 replies. "This game is dumb. I hate you all." 50 replies.

On topic... a post complaining about people complaining about complaints? Did i miss an iteration here? Pretty deep. What do we get if someone complains about this thread? This is harder to understand that the ED tutorials!

I understand where you're coming from. I hope FD will never bend down to the self entitlement of the community, and keep making the game their own way.
