So you already have this other game and are wondering if you should buy it again? Obviously yes, go for it! You will have twice the fun if you own it twice, that's just maths.

GTAV and ED are two entirely different beasts. It should not be hard to decide in between:
GTAV: Fast-paced, story driven, superficial driving
ED: Slow-paced, deliberate, no story, open world

It comes down to this: If you are good at self-motivating and you like a slower pace, ED would be the choice. Otherwise stick with GTA V.

To be fair to the OP he did say he'd played it, not that he owned it. And GTAV on the PC is first-person, while AFAIK the console versions are third-person. But really, asking this question on this forum is kind of pointless.

The games are chalk and cheese and there are numerous reviews and videos of both all over the web. If you can't decide which of their characteristics trumps the other then I don't think asking for outside opinion is really going to help, especially on a forum that's dedicated to one of the games but has some very vocal detractors.

Then again maybe the OP is hoping someone will buy him a copy like that guy on Reddit. Or is just trolling. I've been awake since 5am scanning planets and my ability to parse meaning is compromised. All I can see is that spinning scanner hexagon, endlessly repeating in my visual cortex.

Gtav is an amazing game. I had a lot of fun playing it for a month or two.

I've played elite much longer.

I'd buy both. Just get the other later.

I played gtav on a friends ps3. I don't feel the need to get it on the pc. I might one day though.

GTA 5 is open world too! Im deliberately not buying it due to my exploration OCD which means ill be forever in GTA being, like a cab driver, so i can see everything....

Elite dangerous has more to offer but buy both at some point.

Also currently many users with GTA V has some crashes on the latter heist missions
