I don't understand Alpha status

I'm sorry but, does anyone have an explaination on how alpha status and breeding is supposed to work? I've been trying to get my Timber Wolf population going, but I'm having constant issues with every breeding pair fighting. It's costing me quite a bunch of conservation points and I honestly am at a loss right now. I have a female that is for some reason a perpetual beta, despite there being no other females in the enclosure.

Every male I introduce wants to pick a fight with them. I don't know how to change this or if it can be changed, and when you're adopting an animal, how do you see if it's an Alpha or not? I'm sorry but this is becoming very frustrating after chucking out my entire first lineage of wolves, getting a brand new fresh pair off the market and finding the same issue.

A Animal becomes automatically a Alpha if it is a Animal that uses the Alpha-System. For some reason Frontier programmed the Wolf's to only accept 2 adult Animals. That's why the Animals fight. There are to many of them in the Enclosure. Animals can also fight because they want to become the new Alpha. A Alpha-Animal has a Alpha-Sign next to its Gender-Sign. I hope they will make the social Behavior of the Wolfs more realistic. You can see in the Zoopedia how many adult Animals you can have in a Enclosure

But there are only two in this enclosure, one male one female. The female is a Beta despite being the only wolf in the enclosure.

But for some reason this counts as a hit against their social status. There's no female wolf for her to fight to gain Alpha status, Tyrianne is the only female wolf. So what do I do?

Just wait. She should become a Alpha after some Time. Maybe it's a Bug. If nothing happens, it could maybe help to put her in the Trade Center and then back in the Enclosure. If this doesn't work, try to get another female Wolf.
