Today I launched the game and decided to log into open (I don't know if that had anything to do with it, but anyway). After the spinning ship loading screen ended and the game proper started, it immediately started acting weird: Namely, I was docked at a station, and the launching pad started immediately go up, and then immediately came down. I had not selected anything.
After that, all the lights in the hangar were all glitchy, blinking, with weird light glitches all over the place. It wasn't a visual glitch alone, as that small ramp between the landing pad and the entrance to the concourse lifts was constantly going up and down, making a noise while doing so.
The entire place was haunted!
I decided to disembark. While on foot the lighting glitches were gone and that ramp had stopped, but the glitching didn't stop there. A couple of seconds after disembarking I got the transition-to-black, and when it was over, I was in the station's concourse! I had not taken the lift there. It just teleported me there.
The concourse looked mostly normal, but there was a distinct lack of mission givers, for some reason. I saw another commander (I was in open, after all), and all the normal NPCs, but no mission givers.
I took the lift again to go to the hangar, and it went there as normal, and when I exited the lift... the same thing happened again: A couple of seconds after exiting the lift I get the fade-to-black, and suddenly I'm back in the concourse. I tried again, and same thing!
I swear the entire place was haunted! It was really weird.
I thought about capturing a video about it, but I don't have currently anything installed to do that. Plus, I couldn't return to my ship to see the weirdness from before; I could have just demonstrated the teleporting-back-to-the-concourse thing.
I quit to desktop and restarted the game, and everything was fine after that.
But man, if this was an actual in-game event rather than some kind of super-weird glitch, it would be both spooky and extraordinarily cool. Hadn't been more freaked out since my first hyperdiction.
