I feel kind of ripped off

I am very confused with all of the versions available for download right now. But I feel kind of ripped off.
If I understand correctly I paid 67 euros for an alpha release whiwh will only be 26 euro at official release.
That is more than double the price, and you don't even get anything extra. As much as I'm looking forward to playng the game, that is just crazy.
I cannot be the only one to feel like this?

you pay more so you support the devs more and can play earlier than anyone else

also its kinda your fault for not reading but i agree it is kinda confusing to have so many versions.

it would be easiert to have only 3 versions and have clearler descriptions

How many threads do we have to have about people complaining about the price of the alpha....

Why did you buy it if you thought it was too much. You are supporting the dev's further along with being able to play the game early and provide feedback about the alpha. A higher price alpha SHOULD keep out a lot of people that dont understand what an alpha is but obviously isnt going to stop those people from paying it if they really want it

You paid extra for the privilege of playing before release and providing feedback which might influence the way the game is developed. If you are concerned that much ask for a refund providing you did not reveal your Steam key at which time you forfeited any chance of refund.

But you are playing the game today not in November. I paid 75. USD to play in March well worth the money and time IMO.

I understand I paid more to play sooner, but I was expecting the release price to be around 50 euro's. Which is a more conventional price. This difference feels like a middle finger to people who already bought it.

Also I have played it for like 1 hour because there really isn't much there yet.. but that's of course not relevant.

And yes I ahev reveiled the steam key because I was unaware of the refund option, so yeah, not too clever :)

that is of course your opinion but a vast majority will disagree with you here including me. there is plenty to do just look at some of the videos on youtube

I can understand why you feel this way and I'm not sure how I feel about it either... I understand we are paying to play it early and help develop the game but at that time we had no idea how much the game would be at release.. I assumed it would stay around that price because of the quality of the game but now I feel a bit ripped off as it's much much cheaper than I expected

Personally I would not buy the alpha now and I do understand what you are saying. For me and a lot of other People we purchased the Alpha at the start so we have had heaps of time to play around with it.

Even when I purchased it at the start I read all the information on all of the versions before deciding on which one to get at the price for Alpha was a large one (I am in Australia) so my price was about $100 which is the most I have ever purchased a game for but I have easlier recieved my money back, as I have not stopped playing this game since the first Alpha came out.

et a refund then? not much there? this game is phenominal and worth every penny, amaing to be partof the development too, thank you frontier

I bought Alpha when it first came out. You put extra money on it because you:
1. Want the game early. Final release is not until November 17th
2. Want to support the development more than others
3. Be part of the development. You have a much greater influence on how the game is developed

I would have even paid more. this has been a brilliant and exciting journey, Frontier are delivering everything they say they would, the community spirit has been amazing, the creations have been amazing, (don't tell the the dev's I would have paid more though) thank you Frontier. (lets hope this transition to alpha 3 and steam works as well as everything else frontier has done).

Possibly do a little more research next time? When I bought my early bird access I think they already had the price for the pre-order (with no early access) listed on their store page. It did not take much effort to find it.

And we already have influenced the Game ;)

The release price will be 50$/40€/30£ I think. Have in mind that by taking part in the alpha, you were able to playtest this game since last March, and you will also get the extra stuff that come in the 45$ thrill-seeker edition that was announced.

This version includes an in-game Golden Hat for your avatar, a Gold King Coaster mascot, a digital sketchbook, and the Planet Coaster Official Soundtrack (it also gives beta access, but early birds get that anyway).

The soundtrack and the early access was worth it alone for me imo, but your mileage may vary. The important part though, is that feedback from the two alpha versions so far has informed the game to be better already (Frontier is listening to us).

Hope that helps, cheers..C:

Why did you unload all that money on the Alpha, knowing there was hardly any content, and only play it for an hour?

You've shot yourself in the foot, my friend.

I totally agree with this assessment. One hour worth of game play? Really? I haven't stopped playing it since I downloaded it. Well, that's not correct. I normally stopped playing my current game about a week or so before the next release because I was worried that my creations might just be messed up with the next release. Alpha 1 to Alpha 2 was a major jump with coaster alone having to redesign the stations and content around as an example. And just like Alpha 2 to Alpha 3, I'm sure I'll be adjusting some things as well. But honestly, I can't stop playing it and I paid $75 and well worth every damn penny to me. I've spend more on crappy games that had hardly any replay-ability. (Is that a word???) But honestly, if you got it and though it had no content and you played an hour, I would have gotten a refund because this game just isn't right for you then. I cherished every bit and piece they sent to us, and how the responded personally yo all questions and issues you had with the game. No, you just don't normally have that kind of access to the developers while the game is being developed. That alone was worth it to me, extras at the end or not. The extras are just the cherry on the top of an already awesome sundae!

I agree with most on here. It's a shame you feel ripped off. To me I feel so great to be a part of the Alpha. I spent $75 and so far I am very happy with the money I spent. I am a part of a community that is collaborative and part of the development. Being able to a part of the Alpha let's you test feature and provide feedback. Which kudos to Frontier because they actually read the forums and listen to their community. Many forum posts with suggestions and feedback have been heard from the Dev team and implemented into the game. To me that is also worth the money I paid. To be a part of the game's build is awesome and I enjoy that part. And not to stress enough that Frontier is pretty transparent when it comes to features added or removed due to community feedback. Out of he few early access I have been a part of, I can say this is worth the money because it is being used for its intended purpose to garner feedback and create a final build that is par above the competition.
