I have been back and forth on this for a while, but I think the light rain that could be experienced from most maps feels too soft, specifically in the temperate and tropical biomes.
During my time in Jurassic World Evolution 2, I cannot help but notice there is a different level of light rain that could be experienced in-game. If you play in Isla Nublar 1993 or the Germany map, you are likely to experience rain like this:
These two maps when compared to most maps in the game, would have very heavy light rain. Dinosaurs and buildings would look wet, footsteps would splash on wet ground, the water spots would ripple, guests would take out their umbrellas or start walking faster, and the overall atmosphere feels wetter. It was a nice atmospheric change that freshened up the experience and one I tend to enjoy when building on those two maps.
If you were to play on other temperate or tropical maps, you are instead likely to get rain like this:
This is the softer version of light rain, one that you are to experience in maps like Pennsylvania, Nublar 2015, and Isla Sorna. I did not mind it at first as I took it as a different type of weather, one that would reflect the location of the park where rain could come as a light drizzle.
With more time playing on those maps, it does feel like it is too soft of a drizzle, as the visual atmosphere of the park is simply reduced to the faint rain droplets in the air, while the rest of the park looks dry and unaffected by the weather. This also leaves me wondering why tropical maps like Isla Nublar 2015 or Isla Sorna are not as wet as Nublar 1993 when it rains.
I was back and forth on this idea, but I was wondering if more temperate and tropical maps would have rain like that of Germany or Nublar 1993 respectfully. The atmosphere rain brings from those two maps tend to be much more noticeable, and I would love it if that level of rain could be experienced in other maps besides those two. What do you think?
Thanks for reading!
