Newcomer / Intro I finally left the cradle.

Gotcha. I think I do have an A rated power distributer but my shields are weird hybrid things. I did find A rated shields in several places though, so keep your eye out. I just can't equip them because my power plant's completely maxed out. I've not travelled that far outside the bubble either.

That's funny. I hadn't really noticed cruise liners until recently, and only because your post made me do a quick check to see what they fly around as. That's a good tip though. I'm usually too busy recklessly entering a spaceport to bother scanning ships. Trust me, you don't wanna be coming out when I'm coming in. It's an insurance claim waiting to happen.

And vice versa. You don't want to come out when I'm going in. A Cobra smashing itself against my shields will not even be a minor annoyance :devilish:.
The resulting fire from the station, though, might be...

By scanning NPC ships entering your sensor's field of view, while staying on course to your destination, you can gather quite a lot of encoded materials. I've got a button on my HOTAS bound to "cycle next contact" so I can flip through them and scan the ones in view. It also gives me something to do while travelling in super cruise (and it improves situational awareness).

Yeah, there are way too many times I've nearly been fired upon by station security. I come in hot so I don't always have time to stop before I hit the sticky-out thing on the back wall.

I'd rather be crushed by someone like yourself than accidentally hit a little Sidewinder.

I've just started doing that using the little joystick left of the armaments button, if that's what you mean. I get really paranoid travelling to other stars in binary systems.

But yeah, that's a good function to cycle through other ships in your area. I just didn't realise it was an option till a few days ago.
