I finally unlocked the Fed Corvette in my last play session and bought it. I did not fly it, today it has a 357k fine?

Is that a known issue? I unlocked and bought the Fed Corvette, sold off all the optional internals. I was about to configure the rest of the ship, but I was out of time, so I logged off. So I logged back in today and noticed in my transactions the ship now has a 357k fine. But I never flew it anywhere. The faction for the fine is LHS 317 Travel Exchange if that matters, which is not present in the system I was in and am in now. I also checked the Codex session log, it shows the purchase, selling off the items and then logging in again today, nothing in between. Any ideas as to what happened to result in a fine?

Yes, it's probably that. Odyssey killed all criminal gameplay this way. Gameplay that was created when they initially changed the wanted system to ship only.

It seems like such a bad gameplay decision to me. Such gap between designing and understanding the game these days..

357k ... not too bad. If I buy Odyssey my ships will have about 4 billion bounties cause of my bgs Corvette! Plus they changed the system in Horizons too, and you can't pay individual bounties like you used to. In the past I just kept huge bounties against big factions and paid accidental (or intentional) small ones. Today no, you can't do that anymore for.. reasons.

? As long as you dont get them rolled into superpower bounties you can still pay them off individually...

Also not sure what you mean with 'killed criminal gameplay'. Earned my FC in two weeks in a way which got me dozens upon dozens of bounties, almost totalling three million and a pile of notoriety. Not sure how it stopped me from doing what I wanted to do.

If you are playing Odyssey the crime system in that version of Elite is idfferent from horizons. Fines and bounties follow the commander - so all ships will show the same bounties/fines.

That's interesting, I wasn't aware of that. So essentially in EDO, the crime and punishment system has been reverted to how it was originally (before the overhaul in Horizons)?

I have a penalty on my Python, but not on my T10. It costs about the same amount to transfer them, even though the latter should be far more expensive.

Regardless of how the fine was acquired, the amount of the fine in a pittance compared to the cost of a Corvette that is fully outfitted for combat.
I mean, you say that but I've come across player Corvette builds in open that would make you doubt that statement. :ROFLMAO:

Assuming an A-rated combat Corvette, the cost is 700M+, so a 357K fine is only 0.05%. Assuming an E-rated Corvette without weapons, shields and cargo racks, the cost is 187M, so a 357K fine is only 0.2%. Either way, the fine is nothing.
