I Flipped the BGS in my Factions Favor. Began building and the new buildings belong to displaced faction?

So, I've been working the last 2 weeks once I completed my outpost to flip the BGS in my factions favor. Finally, 2 days ago after a bugged week of bgs and CZ war not updating, My faction came out on top. Just a few hours ago i placed my inital t1 sites that i've been planning for awhile now. When i request docking so i can land and offload my cargo, I noticed that it says the construction site belongs to the faction I JUST displaced 2 days prior.

The whole reason I held off waiting on building out in my system was so MY faction was the controlling faction. I do not want to have to have a war or conflict over every single thing i build in my system end up belonging to the other faction.

I know not everyone is a participant of the BGS stuff and, normally, I am not either. However, it's a point of pride and loyalty for me that the system i build out belongs to the squadron I'm in.

Has anyone noticed this? Is this a bug? Intentional? Will it fix itself upon completion of the construction project? Fix itself upon the weekly maintence cycle when it becomes 'active'?

Same thing happened to me. It turns out that, regardless of which faction is in charge of the system, each new structure you build will have a faction placed in charge at random (or, y'know "procedurally," anyway). Now, I don't know if there is any weighting to the randomness or not, so I think (haha I should have said "hope") it would at least still be possible for the dominant faction to still be put in charge if the dice roll comes up in their favor; but: Nobody Knows! Because there is no documentation!

Maybe @Ian Doncaster or one of the other folks who have been data gathering will have some observations on the relative weighting of the dice - is it a 1 in 5 chance for any of the factions to be assigned to each newly built location? Is the dominant faction specifically excluded from the first 4 new builds so that other factions "have a chance"?

But yeah the short version is: Working As Intended. At least for the particular surprise outcome you are experiencing.

So far all the things I've created have either gone to the controlling faction or to the faction which was tied with influence with it due to a conflict.

My guess would be "random, but weighted according to current influence levels", and yes as you suggest there might be a rule to ensure that the second asset always goes to someone else.

(Me, I'd have preferred a more diverse set of faction ownership in my system than what I got, but it's ended up as something I can probably change into that with a bit more BGS work)

I just checked the 5 projects I placed AFTER my faction became the controlling faction. All projects are by the previous Controlling Faction. If it's the case that the bgs needs to be flipped for EVERYTHING you build in your own system, That is beyond disappointing! I thought Colonisation is supposed have squadrons organizing and supporting it. I don't understand why they would set it up like this?

Should not your faction Control ALL facilities constructed in a system by the architech's faction? Especially if he worked to flip the control of the only station in the system before beginning work on building out the rest of the system?

I had actually planned to fully build out my system. Its 42 planets. 4 ringed gas giants. Slots for 41 orbital and 32 ground based settlements.

I also planned to customize each name so I've been buying up a lot of ARX for this project. And now, because of this bugged bgs crap, I'm abandoning those projects and any plans I had with colonization.

I realize I am in the minority caring about my faction being the controlling faction in the system I am colonizing. Until I flipped the bgs in my factions favor, I have never participated in any meaningful way in the bgs system. My experience with it the last two weeks has been beyond frustrating! It constantly bugs out and the ticks are unreliable and outdated by the time you get them.

I don't care about expanding my faction, that's not why I am wanting to build out the system. I DO care that my faction is the controlling faction in a system I AM BUILDING UP!

I am done with colonization, just because of this. This is literally, my only complaint about this awesome new update the developers gave us. If I was a solo player, I would not care, but I am part of a squadron based faction, and I DO CARE! To me, this was the perfect system and the only one I planned on colonizing. Other's of my squadron are of the same opinion, We are not about expansion. We don't expand. We keep control of our own core systems. We keep what we have and maintain what we have. No desire or need to conquer other territory. BUT, we would like that systems WE colonize and build out belong to our own faction.

See below in the event any of this is helpful in data gathering:

I colonized a system and after building my first outpost (Prometheus scientific) my faction moved in as 3rd faction, which was expected.

While in 3rd place, I began work on a new outpost (Vulcan industrial).

I then began boosting INF in this system. Several days later, my system was locked into pending war between my faction and the top faction.

Hours after the BGS conflict lock was confirmed, I completed the second outpost.

The second outpost was awarded to the top faction, which was in an INF tie with my faction.
