I found an Earthlike World basically inside the bubble, basically. What were the odds on that?

I generally don't do exploration, but I was bored and off I went. Within literally 15 minutes of starting out from Matthaus Olbers station I came across an undiscovered system with an EW. And so I stopped exploring, having realized that it wasn't going to get any better than this.

Cheers

There are lots of earth-like worlds in the bubble... and that system isn't totally undiscovered, only unexplored by you. You'll need to search further afield if you're going to get your name tagged on an ELW.

Also it does get better than finding an ELW.
Ringed ELW
Binary ELW
Binary ELW/Water World pair
Binary Ringed ELW
Multiple ELWs in the same system
ELWs around neutron stars
ELWs in nebulae
ELWs in the barren regions of the galaxy - in between spiral arms, above/below the galactic plane

Ammonia Worlds and Water Worlds in similar situations.

You have much to discover.

I'm pretty sure Hercules is CMDR Tall Cool One. We've met in game.

Anyway, first discovery of an ELW very near or in the bubble is pretty rare, but there are bound to be things people have missed.

In late 2015, still more than a year since the last reset, I found an undiscovered moon half-way between Sol and Shinrarta. I was astounded that no one had noticed that as at least half the player base would likely have passed through the system I was in.

Your CMDR name is "Tall Cool One"? If not, you are not the first to discover that ELW. If yes, congratulations. Finding ELW that are first discoveries is really cool.

I get a lot of undiscovered systems with stations and all sorts of stuff in them while traveling through the bubble. Sadly I'm never the first CMDR to discover those systems.

The point is that this is an undiscovered system with a Earth-like World, 600LY from Sol, found by me (me!) after 3 years of 1.5 MILLION Commanders flying around and around.

That'a a Unicorn friendo!

Oh yeah, I am Tall Cool One in-game. Forgot to add that to make it explicitly clear...

Very nice, I did a lot of deep space mining below the bubble, have come across lots of systems that haven't been visited. I guess the bulk of CMDRs just head out along the galactic plane.

It is not at all so incredible. There are still directions from the bubble that lead to nothing interesting and in those directions you only need to travel 500LYs to have most systems undiscovered. I have one such direction marked for times when I just don't want to be in the bubble any more but I want to be close enough to come back at any moment. Anyway, these directions contain just as many ELWs as any other. Nice find!

Yeah I was shocked to some weeks a go. I took a passenger mission from the Bubble to Rohini (around 7kly) and 90% of systems were undiscovered, starting already like 15j from the Bubble. I didn't even go below or above the plane, just plotted in the general direction of the destination. I was too lazy to scan a lot but first-discovered like 50 water, earthlike and HMC planets by just skimming the nearest ones. I guess there are really a lot of systems out there :) Cool.

Finding ELWs isn't that hard that close to the Bubble, finding them still Untagged is much harder. That system is about 650 LYs from Sol, which is well within the 1000 LY radius within which I would assume most everything interesting had already been discovered. It's not quite "within the Bubble" - which I would define as being 200 to 300 LYs from Sol - but it's still darn close. If it were entered in the ELW database thread, it would come in at around the 400th closest uninhabited ELW to Sol - which, in a list of over 10,000 planets, isn't too shabby at all.

There are likely still a few gems near the bubble - most people fly straight towards the landmarks. It was not all that long ago that someone (Macros the Black?) went to co-ordinates 500 500 500 - and no one had been there. was a pretty cool system too, form memory.

Z...

Nice Find, I find hovering above an undiscovered ELW quite thought provoking, especially orbiting round the dark side in the hope of seeing a light or twoMost explorers have 50+ly jump ranges and will only start limiting theirs jumps once they get to an area they are interested in, so there is bound to be uncharted areas between those ranges. Add to that that a good percentage will travel directly from the bubble and not alter what plain they depart from and its a good bet there are still plenty of good finds to be had within 1k of the bubble. I get you unwillingness to carry on though, I'm a wanabe explorer myself. I get out there with dreams of finding something special, get bored with the jumping after a few days, see a random galnet article and rush back to find....well not much normally, then rinse and repeat. Longest trip is 5 weeks but I always feel I'm missing out on something in the bubble, so I got myself a second account for when the exploration bug takes me
