The search might be case sensitive, if in parentheses, not sure about that.
Your search was "Green Gas Giant", and at least in my Journals it showed "Green gas giant".

Note also that that's the "localised name" field, so if you're running ED in a language other than English, it'll be completely different.

A search for just "Green" will get the internal name regardless of ED language (and anything else green that you've found, but you should be able to narrow it down to the gas giants)

As Ian pointed out, "Green gas giant" is the localized string, so that one woud only show up if they're running the English language version.

Are they special some how or just neat?

IIRC it's one of the rarest planet types in the game. Probably much rarer than eg. a water giant (which itself is really rare).
