i got blowed up by a real player

There I was minding my own business when out of the blue I get pulled out of SC by a real player. My first such encounter of the multiplayer aspect of the game.

He/She then proceeded to attack and demand my cargo but I refused and fought back but died.

It was awesome :)

My one complaint is I didn't notice the demand for the cargo until after I had respawned in the station as I was concentrating on surviving rather than looking at the messages in the small window top left. think this needs improving. I wouldn't have handed over the 2 ton of coffee or whatever it was anyway :)

Death to all pirates Yarghhhh

For several reasons we need an 'in your face' Declaration of Piracy mechanic.
Most people hardly pay attention to the comms screen. NPC babble makes you insensitive to what is going on in that screen.

It would be very different if there was a portrait with the text message. Frontier had it and it really gave the game a more human touch. Our brain is hardwired to pay attention to faces. FD should use that. They know it works, because previous Elite games had it too. It should be prioritized I feel, but I suspect it ties in with the fpa part of the game and avatar creation. It is therefore not an easy thing to implement.

Being interdicted kind says all the pirate needs to say really. it's an aggressive violent act, forcefully ripping you back to sub light speed that immediately says "hmm, this guy isn't asking me on a date" :)

Big flashy text and alarms from an aggressor is what I would like to see. and if he's got a mic he might want to try and communicate that way.

Bring it. i'll be better prepared next time.
