I got Elite Working on my Laptop! :)

I'm going away for Christmas and feared not being able to play Elite. So I installed it on my Laptop... now consider that its about 5yrs old. Windows XP, Centrino Duo 2.54ghz, 4gb Ram, Nvidia 9600GT (512mb) I wasn't expecting it to work at all..... but it does! HUZZAH! I do have to run in LOW preset graphics mode and drop the resolution to 800x600 to get a relatively smooth framerate, but it works! :eek:

I have to say, well done FD. I'll still get to play away from home this holiday. YAY :D

I'm going to my girlfriends cottage in a few weeks.

Would love to play some ED there, but the cottage has no internet!
This is why an offline mode would be handy =[

Yeah I played my first traderun since gamma 1.x this morning on my partnher's laptop as well!
It is a bit choppy for me, at medium detail, but that might be just the wifi bandwith I'm getting downstairs.

(Can't play on my own rig as we've just moved and now I got no internet connection plus my screen doesn't light up. gonna open her up tomorrow, check out if any connectors were shaken loose. maybe get a 30-50 m cable to run down the stairs. )

I'm don't think I'll ever get anywhere near proficient enough with the touchpad to dogfight properly though. ><
