I got my new rig !

Finally, thanks to one of my friends that helped me assembling my new computer I can finally play elite on ultra settings !

MB : Asus pro gamer Z170
CPU : Intel 6700K @4ghz
SSD : Samsung 1To
GPU : Asus Nvidia 1070 trix
RAM : 2 x Kinsgtone HyperXFury 8Gb RAM @2400 Mhz

What can I say, but WHAO !

Its fluid, smooth, and looks awesome !

It's unfortunate that the anti-alliasing is not that good, but otherwise I'm VERY happy ! :D

And all this, VERY quietly !

The Be Quiet ! brand is very new, but will go far if they keep like this !

One question though.

The fan of my GPU stays idle even while I'm playing elite, I'm not to concerned because the temperature never goes above 57ºC, but I want to know if it is normal. Is there a Tº that the card must reach before the fans kicks in ?

First - congratz on the nice set up!
I have GTX 1060 and th fan works the same way - it comes alive when certain temp is reached so I believe you have nothing to worry about. [up]

congratz !
you didn't mention your screen resolution but as your card is not really working hard :) you can try super sampling and test , start with x1.5

Now I only need a new monitor, mine is starting to show black stripes, it is faint, but on a white background it is noticeable.
Plus I believe that elite would look even better in a 34' screen. :D

Congrats, that's a decent rig. The temperature is fine so the fan will stay at idle. Gone are the days when a PC sounded like a Harrier Jump Jet taking off if you so much as opened a spread sheet. :D

Regarding the anti aliasing, check your 3D settings in your cards control panel. Some default factory settings over ride the game settings. If you prefer game settings make sure AA is set to 'game preference' in the cards control panel. If you prefer card settings, select the AA you want there, and disable the AA in the game. HTH

In that case, DON'T try one of the ultrawide screens. You then might find that you also need a new desk :D

My resolution is not very high, 1650x1050, looking forward to this baby.

I have a big desk ;)

Nice! I just upgraded my mother board, ram and processor due to a failure on the old mother board. Still rocking the 970 though. I love those 34" wide monitors. There a store I get into sometimes that has several including the AOC and ASUS ROG monitors. Pricey but awesome. I've had to cut back on the trips there because I almost shorted one out with my drool...[where is it]

Let's face it... If I'm going to pay for one I want it to be working!:D

Congrats, nice rig.

Temp/fan sounds normal, I've got a 1070 founders and the fan only kicks in at 60. Normally when running elite (4k/ultra settings) it is around 60-68 degrees depending on ambient temps. So you're fine :)

Things will only start to throttle down at 84 degrees so you've got plenty of headroom.

Cool, nice rig! I upgraded to an i5 7500 and 16GB DDR4 this week, and its fun. :) Dont forget to use SS for additional anti-aliasing. Looks MUCH better that way.

I'm thinking more of something like this:

[h=3]QHD+ Screen Resolution[/h]
The Wide Quad High Definition+* (WQHD+) resolution is four times clearer than basic HD, for stunning picture quality. Designed for display of advanced graphics on a wide screen, WQHD+ delivers an amazing 3840 x 1600 pixels.

How do you think I feel, my (laptop) was £99 .. 120 bucks!!!?? lol.
(Not quite like running ED on a RaspberryPI, but nearly :D)

I tried out ED in VR (both oculus and vive) yesterday. Blimey Charley, everyone should try that at least once in their life. (Incredible good)

Nice going OP .. looking forward to the pics!

I don't normally make fun of typos <honest> but I couldn't resist..

..unless there really is a humongous monitor out there, or you're projecting onto the side of a building?

That's weird. The WQHD is lower res than standard QHD.... QHD is 3840 x 2160 I would have thought WQHD would maintain the same vertical resolution, since "Full HD" was originally coined from 1080 line video

Super Sampling, its in the graphics options. It has a tendency to reduce your FPS quite a bit, but if your rig can handle it set it as high as possible. Makes things MUCH sharper.

HOLY S****** !!!!!!

So much better !

My fans finally kicked in. :D

GPU at 63ºC, not bad !
