I got my new rig !

I have the same ASUS Strix GTX 1070 card, it is a lovely piece of kit don't forget to overclock it (I use the supplied GPUTweak software). I have it running at 2101 MHz peak with a average of 2088MHz I haven't pushed the voltage up to much and the card sits at about 65C during game play with my own custom fan curve.

Finally, thanks to one of my friends that helped me assembling my new computer I can finally play elite on ultra settings !

MB : Asus pro gamer Z170
CPU : Intel 6700K @4ghz
SSD : Samsung 1To
GPU : Asus Nvidia 1070 trix
RAM : 2 x Kinsgtone HyperXFury 8Gb RAM @2400 Mhz

What can I say, but WHAO !

Its fluid, smooth, and looks awesome !

It's unfortunate that the anti-alliasing is not that good, but otherwise I'm VERY happy ! :D

And all this, VERY quietly !

The Be Quiet ! brand is very new, but will go far if they keep like this !

One question though.

The fan of my GPU stays idle even while I'm playing elite, I'm not to concerned because the temperature never goes above 57ºC, but I want to know if it is normal. Is there a Tº that the card must reach before the fans kicks in ?

I have the same specs except mobo is asus maximus ranger viii and i have 16gb ram 2400mhz, it runs every game perfect on ultra.
High end gaming pc!
I7 7700k is only slightly better (5% in performamce) than i7 6700k so you're settled for a while.
I did oc it gpu/cpu but return it to stock since there is no need yet to do it. Don't want to burn it uneccesary untill it's needed.
My only regret it that i didn't bought 3000mhz ram instead 2400mhz but it's not big deal.
Today games need more and more ram so if you go for another 8gigs of ram consider buying 3000+mhz, it can be very handy in cpu intensive games.

One thing you can do to help yourself is whether you are air or water cooling, replace all the stock case fans with Noctua brand fans of the same size. They'll pull about half the power and double the speed while their extreme double ball bearings keep everything whisper silent.

You'll pay a premium for the fans and they have the most disgusting feces brown color, but bar none they are the most legendary fans in the computer cooling industry. You will NOT be disappointed.

EDIT: What is your CPU cooler / heatsink?

Actually if you can just put everything you bought into PC part picker and put the direct link here. I'd love to see what you're running fully.

A 1070 on a 1680x1050 screen is like a semi truck pulling a tiny boat. Complete and total overkill. A 750ti can drive that resolution without issue.

1440p is the sweet spot.

Thinking on upgrading my monitor too. :)
