Hardware & Technical I got permission.....

To build the cockpit here at home. Had to give up some things for the wife but it is all worth it.

I don't have an office here at home, so it's not easy to find room with a wife and 4 kids running around.

Already planning the triple 27" monitors.
Settings for already purchased, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS.
Ordered the OR last night (on a total whim!)

Next I need to plan the desktop to play it all. Currently play it on a Macbook Pro 17" Bootcamp partition. Not good enough for 3 monitors and OR.

Anything else I am forgetting?

Stash away enough money to buy the CV1 when it comes out. And switches, you'll need switch panels for your pit.

To be honest all you will need is the CV1, Warthog and kick-a@@ computer. A triple head monitor setup will take up loads of room and be a waste of money.
You don't need to build a pit with VR as you'll be 'in there' :D

Ok I am seeing all this OR talk. Yes I ordered one :)

One thing I cannot grasp...how the heck can you see the keyboard to type to other players? Use some commands that are NOT mapped on the joysticks etc.

Thanks

I've been playing with a DK2 and an X52-Pro. Killer setup, an combines to make the most impressive immersion I've EVER seen in a video game.

I've heard about Oculus users using Voice Attack for text chat, but have not tried it. Is this not the future?! I'm planning on sticking with voice comms, but that's just me being stubborn, no time to type in a dogfight anyway.
