Since exploring started tickling my pickle I've had a dream of finding an earth-like orbiting a gas giant (preferably with rings). In my mind I have a picturesque image that's indicative of Endor's forest moon, or the first shot of Pandora in Avatar. I genuinely don't know if it's purely something in the realms of sci-fi, or if there's a precedent (in RL or in Elite) BUT today on my return from a 8k ly round trip (small for some of you but the biggest I've ever been on :D) I came across a water world in orbit around a gas giant. Complete with rings! Was dead chuffed. Sorry if this is old news to anyone but it was nice to reach a personal abstract goal. Wanted to share :3

That is a nice find.

Sometimes I'd do the Adv. Disco Scan and see "64 new objects" or whatever and go "Yay!" and then look at the system map and see it's all just gas giants and rocks and go "Ugh". But I think it's awesome when you find something unique w/in the clutter like that waterworld moon. That's the stuff, imo, that makes exploring fun.

Thoguht I had one but the earthlike isn't orbiting a ringed gas giant, it is in a binary orbit with a ringed gas giant. :( I'm sure it's out there, though.

The closest to a ringed earth like arround a ringed gas giant
is a ringed earth like paired with a ringed gas giant. close, but not quite ^^
