Newcomer / Intro I hate Police

I managed to log up 85000 credits at a Nav Beacon, but thought I would just have one more kill before claiming my prize - mistake. I notice some police attacking a wanted ship so thought I would go and give them a hand, while blasting the wanted ship with my multi cannon a police craft ran through my gun fire, hence all the other police ships turned red and ganged up on me - I lost the fight and 85000 credits

That's the way it works at the moment. Be very careful with weapons fire if there are authority ships involved. You've already found out the hard way! There have been some requests for this to be amended: allow accidental hits to attract a small fine initially and the police will only turn nasty if you persistently target them. Have to wait and see what Frontier decide.

Well this is bound to happen if you fire slow projectiles randomly in a cluster of people.
Try to attack close combat so 1km max and keep checking radar so you can notice the "idiots" from getting in the crossfire.

Even if you avoid tagging police by accident, you never know when some NPC might waste you as well. The other night I saw a Wanted Eagle (Average at best, might have been Mostly Harmless) pop up at a nav... "here's an easy kill" i thought, and engaged him. Within 10 seconds he'd taken my shields down and the damage was piling up - he had some NASTY weapons, and I was lucky to escape alive.

Nav Point Hunting can be like gambling in a casino - always know when to take your winnings and cash in.

Ouch. Whenever I get that "one more" thought in my head I shudder with fear of the potential irony about to ensue.
One time my younger brother wanted to do "one more slide" before we left the playground. After a pointless debate with the whining child we let him go one more time.
..
He broke his arm on the way up.

Best skill you can learn, running away.

I have yet to be destroyed by the cops in this situation - and it happens to me in close combat where despite being careful one of the numbskulls flies right into my fire arc. Soon as it happens I start evading while still shooting the mark.

Once done..
All pips to engines
Max throttle
Flight assist off
Boost a couple of times until I out range them and stop taking hits
Silent running
Eject heatsink and boost again
FSD
Turn off silent running just before it is charged.

OK, not sure if that is the best way or any steps are flawed, but it has got my adder out of dodge a lot of times. From multi cop hostiles to a pack of sidewinders in an anarchy system.

This has happened to me a few times, the coppers fly into my line of fire and before I know it the fuzz are after me.

Thankfully I have managed to escape, full power to the engines and boosting as much as possible whilst fsd charges
