I hate seeing the empty seat beside me in my Cobra Mk3

Having a non player crew is possibly the most exciting thing FD could implement prior to walking about...it makes so much sense on many levels and I think most cmdrs would welcome even a basic format of this to begin with, could be implemented easily and built onto it...

Multi-crew is something else entirely and although it is for some it also isn't for others. I wouldn't want a crew 'to get an edge', I would like a crew to breathe much needed life into the game.

My dream: is this be used to create back stories. Simple and complex missions, tailored around morality structures and local lore.

And if walking around ever comes crew can help repair ships, undertake simple tasks, but primarily they would be your number 2. Your Jayne. There to cover your 6 in a fire fight and maybe stop that boarding party, catching that bullet or just doing the wrong thing at the wrong moment.

I would love to see an NPC co-pilot or Crew members that fill the seats when set for SLF's. With matching uniforms to boot. It's dumb that we can't use both fighters with being able to hire multiple crew mates. I would do Multi-crew but I make the most of my time doing passenger missions.
 
I fail to see how this would only benefit the large 'super ships'. Let's say a Elite crew member gives you 10ly boost for simplicity. How is that 10ly bonus less powerful on a Adder, Cobra Mk III, Vulture, Asp Explorer and Asp Scout just to name a few? It's still a 10ly boost, right?

I have a whole post on Crew mate spiffs. No attention at all.
 
Muliplayer resolves this. The problem is many of them are evil. The whole point was about sharing a game with friends. Make sure that you have friends sitting in the second seat.

Yeah but my gamer friends are CoDders and Minecrafters. Not ED material lmao. I would prefer more independent usage of crew mates.
 
Yeah we can hire NPC crew for SLFs, but can't make them just sit next to us doing nothing - despite sucking money during this time...

If FDev don't want to let us have a NPC-human co-pilot, then personally i'd pay good money for a cosmetic co-pilot, like this:

1. Brilliant.
2. I would love if they came with a spiff and permanent PIP placement. And it levels with their combat rating. (Ex. +1 to Engines, +20% Jump distance)
3. Also they can scan any direction like Multi-crew can.

Been after a ship's cat for ages. I'd love to explore the cosmos with a kitty. The only thing I would insist on though is that it would automatically leap into the escape pod with me if the ship got destroyed as I couldn't bear the thought of it dying if I got pwned.
 
This is the thing I would most like to see in 3.0 bizarrely. I'd be happy with my hired crew holos just sitting in the spare seats (remove when multicrew active) but more functionality would be great too.

As much as I love that I really would stop caring after waiting that long for 3.0
