LostWinds I hate this game

It was so good and then it just ended. I need more. It only lasted a few hours. there had better be a full sequel or something

There's going to be a sequel.

If Frontier really wanted to make a heap of money off this great game idea, they could make six separate installments to the game once a month or so, with each one involving you gathering another piece of Enril. (kind of like what SBCG4AP is going to be like) This would be beneficial to both the consumers (potentially more game time) and Frontier (more monies).

I understand the reasons not to do an episodic game, but given the Wii having a rather small storage size, it would make sense to develop the rest of the story in an episodic way. You could delete one episode after finishing it, and go on to the next.

What'll probably end up happening is Frontier just having the one sequel in which you collect the other six shards, regain Enril's full power, awaken the other spirits, and beat Balasar. Considering how big the game would have to be to encompass these aspects, an overworld map of the whole island would be helpful.

However Frontier decides to make the sequel, I'm sure it'll be just as stunning as the first one.

i think its rather annoying that it took me less then 3 hours to beat, yes it has great concept to it but i mean its just to easy and i paid 10 bucks for it come thats good money and it was only 3 hours long, plus the story didnt rap up ...i mean the n64 games on the shop channel like paper are still far better then this....and the sad thing is that this is probably the best wiiware title out right now...and its not even that good -_-....all i can say is i am dissapointed in this game and wiiware for that fact....lets just hope LIT by WayForward is a whole lot better wiiware title and that wiiware titles get better from now on.

From our perspective we'd rather provide a game that people enjoyed for a shorter period than a longer game that lacked the same quality. It sounded like you enjoyed the game from your original post and want more - which is good. For value for money I think it compares well with other titles, for example Portal, a great game which I completed in 2.5 hours, but it's twice the price of LostWinds.

Value for money

$10 for a new game that offers 3 hours of quality gameplay. By simple deduction, $100 for a new disc then should offer 30 hours of quality gameplay. This is rare outside of the rpg genre. Count me in for the rest of the series

yes i liked the game but there was also no where a notifaction on how short it was...i watched the trailer and thats just it usually trailors show part of the game but this game showed the whole game entirly even the final boss...and the only boss...but i didnt know it was the entire game until i completed it which means i had already bought it....im try to say it would of been nice if we wer informed somewhere how long it was b4 we bought it....and i will b rather dissappointed if they make us pay for later instalments...its like ur trying to rip us off...u said something about quality...and the quality is alright...ill compare back to paper mario it is probably of just the same quality...no its much better its longer, has unic fighting system, has clever story...and yea...lost winds i would say isnt exactly 3d either more like 2.5...like paper mario...so yea im saying nintendo is supposed to be consumer friendly and it just feels like this companies trying to rip us off....i mean it wouldve been nice to know it was only about 3 hours long but no where does it say that...y would i buy something thats almost like a demo....and u compared this game to portal...yes its short like portal but im pretty sure portal was with the orange box which means there wer otha games which means more gameplay this was 1 game it didnt come in a set...i just cant beleive nintendo would rip the consumer off...its just not like them

Most Wii games are at least 4 times the price of this and not all games have massively long play times. COD4 for the PS3 and PC's single player scenario was over in less than 3 hours and yet cost significantly more.

There were a large number of reviews out there in the wild fairly soon after the game was released - You could've read any one of those to see how long the game was. What you're asking doesn't make much sense. What are Frontier supposed to do? Paste "3 Hours of gameplay - if that's too short for you don't buy it!" on the buy screen?

I think you might be standing alone on both the 'ripping off' standpoint and also on the 'buying the next installment' standpoint. Oh and regarding Portal - it is available for purchase through Steam stand alone for $19.99 whereas if you purchase Orangebox you pay $39.99 so I'd have to stand with Michael on this one.

I was going to disagree with you, but doing some quick sums -
Bully £30/20 hours of gameplay(1) = £1.50 an hour
Bioshock £30/15 hours of gameplay = £2.00 an hour
LostWinds £7.50/3.5hours of game play = £2.15 an hour

It looks like I should not feel as cheated as I did.

for example Portal, a great game which I completed in 2.5 hours, but it's twice the price of LostWinds.

Not a great example. I felt cheated with the Orange box. Having to buy games I've already got is a bit of a kick in the ***** for loyal customers.

1) I feel a reasonable guess - I've done most of the missions and the stats say 1 day and a bit.

If only there was some kind of system where profesional writers could get their hands on a game before it's release and some how tell the public about it, so we can make an informed decision as to whether to buy it or not. A distant hope for a brighter future perhaps.

Also, totally unrelated to the thread, it seems the illustrious Mr Brookes appears talking about Lost Winds in a video on the new 'Nintendo Channel'

Oh today's youth. It makes me want global warming to pick up and just end it all. The game isn't too short. You're all being silly. Simply play it without saving. Geez, is that so rough? It was good enough for me with Super Mario Bros. 3, it should be good enough for you today. Maybe the problem isn't that the game is too short, but rather that you all suck at games and need the back up of a saving safety net in order to finish one. I think it's time some of you put on your big girl pants.

Well la de da.

No more complaining

For all of you that are complaining that the game only took about 3 hours to complete, and cost $10, think of the last time you went to the movies!! How much did you pay to get in the movie?? How long did the movie last?? Did they pause the movie so yu could get up and go to the bathroom?? $10 for 3 hours of entertainment?? I'll pay that with a smile on my face!! :)

Well said, my friend. I know someone who decided not to get this game SIMPLY because it lasted 3 hours for $10, and he somehow figured that it meant that LW had worse value for money than his other games. What an idiot. Since when does value for money have anything to do with length? If the gameplay can make up for the length (which it does) then the game is WORTH BUYING.
