I hate this game....................

Got your attention.................. good.
But yes it's true, i hate this game because i should not be playing it, but i do.

I agree with the ever growing posts that the game is a grind,
and that the game is repetitive, and empty, lacking content.
An empty box with a beautiful wrapping.

i have played at least a few hundred hours since beta.
I have read many posts where the advise is "put it away for a while",
"don't burn yourself out, stop playing and wait for new content"
and "try something else, if trading's a grind, try be a bounty hunter, do some missions".

Well i have played all aspects of the game, from exploring to missions to bounty hunting, i still only have a type 6 and a beefed up Cobra, so i have not just been grinding for credits.

But i still find the game needs something more, and so as not to burn out, i have tried really hard not to play, to have a rest and failed each time.

The game is smooth to play, the controls come naturally to me, i love sci fi and space, so it fills that need easily. The systems and planets are fantastic to watch, the soundtrack is compelling. And yes the game is so addictive, i still need to log in to make a few more creds, or check on some new place i saw on the forum.

Yes i do hate this game for lack of content and multi-payer mechanics, but i can not put it down, dam you.
FD made me a dream game, lacking so much and yet has so much to offer.
It is a contradiction in terms.
Please hurry up with all that new stuff, put me out of my misery, let me play and be happy playing.

Is anyone else feeling my pain, do you want to stop playing, wait for new stuff, but find you are strangely hooked and just can't.

I am still loving the game have been since alpha. There are some things that need improvement I agree but over all I am happy with what I have right now.

"The plot thickens!" .... I'm in a similar boat... by far isn't complete, but what we have now is one helluva wonderful shell!

I bought this game on the 16th December and have played it every day since. On 5th January I will go back to work, at which time I will most likely play at the weekends only.
For me this is the time to cram as much play time in as possible, get my Cobra and then back off and play when I have the time.

Sensible choice, the Cobra is a fun ship.

I'm actually kind of a fan of grindy games. I guess it started with Ragnarok Online and the last really grindy game I played and really enjoyed was Monster Hunter (can't wait for 4G :D).

I just get into zen mode and grind up some things while watching videos or something just as productive :p

As soon as I get enough cash in this game, then it's time to have fun. I'm gunna deck an Eagle and Adder and aim to become one of the highest bounty targets. I will be cheap, I will run away, but I will survive >:)

No problems resting here haven't logged for over a week, no intentions, lost it completely, maybe back in a few months see if it's any better. Played since early Beta and always knew it was not a finished game, now it's a full release and just as broken as it always was. Perhaps even more so.

You know I thought to grind was to crush or break (something) into very small pieces by rubbing it against a rough surface or using a special machine. Funny people are doing that all the time in ED as I am going around flying a spaceship and doing absolutely no grinding.

I absolutely love what they have done up to now.

They have given me my Elite back. All updated, shiny and pretty. (yes with some bugs but hell what game at launch doesn't)

I can wait for further content as what we have now is giving me so much fun and it was the best 50 quid I spent in years :)

{character arc modifier} Main character introduces new evidence, thwarting naysayers and skeptics!

Lol .... have some rep. i can also be seen on the end of one of the slough bells ringing streams, think it was around day 6. Pointing kate to the outpost landing pad.
Another "reason" i found to log on, 2 days is the most i have gone with out playing.

I use same in game name, so if anyone wants to add me as a friend feel free, we can search out new content together.
And i used to play in the PvE Mobiuos group mostly, but i find open perfectly safe (hardly see human players) so now i am in open all the time.

I feel your pain..... I feel exactly like you do, Elite Dangerous is my 'dream game' .... but its not all there yet, I think we all now realise the FD released it before it was ready, the game feels so much like a well polished beta just waiting for a few key features to be implemented and some content....

I agree the game is a bit grindy but it kind of goes with the territory of being an open game with no end. It's the nature of the beast even Eve was grindy to me but often bored me more than any game I have ever played.
.
For me this game needs far more social interaction built in, I don't mean more pvp, but rather things like wings, mission sharing, player trading and more open comms. These alone would add the ability to work together and in turn this game into more than the sum of it's parts.
.
My biggest gripe with this version of Elite is that everything feels segmented, compartmentalised and lonely. I would have liked to see some of the warzones around stations and stars with jump points to give a feel of being involved even if you just a trader trying to earn a living while having to run blockades and combat zones.

@Nosscar here is something I made earlier (quality isn't to great was experimenting with Youtube editor)
