I hate this game....................

I am still loving the game have been since alpha. There are some things that need improvement I agree but over all I am happy with what I have right now.

I agree. I think really that anyone that expected this game to be more than a skeleton, was just kidding themselves. It's a beautiful, wonderful skeleton ready for the meat on the bones. Anyone that expected the meat on the bones at this point were always going to be disappointed.

Okay I'm talking about meat and bones a lot, but you get my point.

You know I thought to grind was to crush or break (something) into very small pieces by rubbing it against a rough surface or using a special machine. Funny people are doing that all the time in ED as I am going around flying a spaceship and doing absolutely no grinding.

its more along the lines of being a blacksmith, with 1000 rusty weapons and a grinding wheel, you take one weapon, sharpen it, put it on a rack, take another weapon, sharpen it, put it on a rack.

or like you said, throwing rocks into a rock crusher, you have a pile of rocks, and you just throw each rock in one at a time.

its all metaphors

you can ignore the grind, but there isn't really much to take your mind off it once you set a ship goal. you can also play without a goal and just go around randomly doing random things, but i mean how many ppl really play a game without aiming for something.

hate is a strong word in this case, if you hated it OP you wouldn't play it at all, I'd do like other say either put up with it or just wait for the patches and see if they make it more fun for you.

Actually I do spend quite a lot of time grinding, well at least that's what it sounds like as I fumble yet another docking and end up sliding across the landing pad yet again. I'm surprised I've got any landing gear left.
.
And the mistake the OP and a few others are making is that they are calling ED a game. It's not a game, it's a lifestyle!

I agree the game is a bit grindy but it kind of goes with the territory of being an open game with no end. It's the nature of the beast even Eve was grindy to me but often bored me more than any game I have ever played.
.
For me this game needs far more social interaction built in, I don't mean more pvp, but rather things like wings, mission sharing, player trading and more open comms. These alone would add the ability to work together and in turn this game into more than the sum of it's parts.
.
My biggest gripe with this version of Elite is that everything feels segmented, compartmentalised and lonely. I would have liked to see some of the warzones around stations and stars with jump points to give a feel of being involved even if you just a trader trying to earn a living while having to run blockades and combat zones.
.
@Nosscar here is something I made earlier (quality isn't to great was experimenting with Youtube editor)

haha great vid, a tribute.
But although my avatar more resembles Thunderbird 4. It was actually based on the independent trader Del boy trotter's reliant van from Only Fools and Horses tv series. But still, thanks.
Still the Adder looks similar in shape too. Now where's that yellow paint.

i now want a yellow station called Peckham manor. see more content. lol
