I have arrived in Colonia - In a T10 Defender

Hi All,

Well I decided to venture forth in the T10 Defender in a way most probably would not have. I left Founders World on December 23 approximately 9pm NZ Time. And arrived on Christmas Day.

The recap

679 jumps, 4 planetary landings, 82% Hull and 71% powerplant. Tranquility II has arrived at Colonia. Don't know if anyone has gone to Colonia in your new T10. I hope to be the first @EliteDangerous

Well done, plan to fly a mining rig T-10 out there in the new year. Although I like heavy handling ships, I was surprised by the T-10's SC performance, it is actually heavier than the T9 in SC :-/ Took me a few hours to get accustomed. You can still full throttle the whole way on long trips, but you have to start manoeuvring immediately on SC exit to avoid certain stars.

Installed thrusters have no effect in SC. Normally ships Super cruise stats are based on the Highest A rated (non modified) Thruster performance in normal space. The T-10 is more sluggish than it's E rated thruster performance in normal space.

You think the T10 is inferior to the T9 is SC?
I thought it felt a bit, but noticeably, lighter on the stick.
Funny how everyone has their own perception of things.

Definitely mate, you know how long I've flown the T9 for. Biggest difference is the manoeuvrability curve. The T-10 is still heavy at low SC speeds (Each ship has a sweet spot) The T9 gets quite a pitch/yaw boost when in the SC sweet spot, the T-10 tends to struggle.

Am used to the T-10 now, just took me by surprise. Just to clarify, each ships sweet spot is not the 75% auto throttle mode, it is closer to the 25% throttle mark (at least on heavy ships) Roll rate on the T-10 is increased over the T9 in SC.

In normal space the T-10 roll/pitch/yaw stats are much higher than the T9's

Ah! I wasn't aware of a "SC Sweet Spot." Always learning something new.
Love this game.
