I have had it with docking request denied.

Ok but the RPS thing is because of start location, OP says he/she is 50-60ly from the start area.

The problem is you have to flood the system with request though. I mean the answer isn't to just leave. Its the only way to avoid it now, but the op is just saying its crap right now, and he is right.

Every time I'm gonna dock with an outpost it dosent matter where I always getting docking request denied so I either wait or relog to soloplay.

So I have desided I will only play soloplay from now on, I cant stand hear another docking request denied again.

That is too bad. I was trying to outpost dock and keep getting denied. A sidewinder orbiting the station like me hit me up on comms. We chatted for a bit, talked about our hopes for the future and wound up friending each other. All of a sudden I got cleared for docking and we went our separate ways. Too bad you won't be meeting cool commanders...

Never happened to me either, at least since release day. And I trade in one of the starting systems, always play in open mode.

I've only had it happened at one Outpost in my starting system, it has happened a couple of times to me there, but a spot opened up both times within a few minutes. Otherwise, I haven't run into it anywhere else yet.

The only issue I have is that it says docking request denied, without specifying why. i am okay in waiting if it's clear that it is merely because the station is full.

I have played since start of premium beta and im well over 20ly away from starter system, I'm more like 50-60ly away and still gets it every time I try to dock at an outpost.
If you're in a "medium" sized ship (that is, Cobra -> Python) there is only one pad on each outpost to handle a ship of that size.

As a result, if you don't request docking within 2 or 3 seconds of the outpost instance being created, even solo, you can get request denied, because an NPC has the pad/clearance.

Put another way, I play mostly solo, and while I flew an Asp & Python, saw request denied probably 1 out of every 10 dockings, like clockwork. Typically it was if I didn't make the request immediately upon entering the instance.

The problem is exacerbated by two changes during Gamma. The first is NPC spawn rate, and the second is the NPC's aren't limited regarding the distance they can request clearance (or they spawn at 7500m, I'm not sure which), while as players, we have to get within the 7500m range before we ask, but we're spawned at 10km.

On rotating stations, you can request clearance much farther away than 7500, but that's not relevant.

Anyway, two ways to solve the problem: Ask for clearance quickly, and/or relog if you don't get the medium pad before the NPC does. Other than that, not much you can do until FDEV fixes the problem, long term.

Actually, they did fix that aspect of it, vjek: When a player requests docking, it either prompts a docked NPC to dust off, or waves off an NPC on approach. You will still get denied, but if you ask again in about 20 seconds, you will get approved to land at the slot the MPC was forced out of.

I guess Frontier doesn't care about all the hatemail they'll get from NPCs whose playtime has been disrupted <grin>

"Your docking request is important to us but all of our pads are full at the moment. You're number #127 in the queue. Please orbit safely."

that's really weird... I have never once had a docking refused... and i'm not even sure i've seen another human player yet. I am not near my starting point, but I am not exactly out on the fringe of the galaxy either.

Maybe they should code in that once a ship docks, it automatically goes down into the hangar instead of sitting on the pad. That way the spot would free up automatically within a few seconds of somebody landing.

Yeah, I've seen them take off once their docked, the problem is, when solo, it creates a new instance, and often, the other Python-esque ships are on approach, and have already obtained clearance, so you have to wait for the minutes it takes them to approach, land, then re-request, then they take off, then they clear, then you can re-request and finally you're in.

Currently, it's waaaaaaay faster just to re-log and get a new instance.

But really. I played in the 80's and I learned patience, but this is just stupid. When you get docking permission it doesn't work regardless of which angle you come in from, and then you have to abandon your docking slot and get back in queue. I mean if I wanted a queue simulator I would've just got in my car and hit the afternoon traffic. Fix this now!

You can fix it yourself. Fly somewhere else.
