First, for context, I'll just say that I've been pretty active in the game since Premium Beta, and that I continue to have confidence in the team and game. The game's good - and one that I've played more than any other. But I'm increasingly taking many month long breaks from the game, and only really pop in after an update to get a sense of what happened. But that wears thin after a couple of hours, and I drop out. Why?

In short, and as I've said many times before, I'm not really looking for more features in the game. Engineers was interesting, but I don't need/want more powerful weapons or more jump range. The new update will bring fighters and new stations, amongst other things - more "stuff"; more "features". But what I really want - and am confident I may one day get - is more (a) "life" in the game (less text, more voice work, aliens/NPCs to interact with) and (b) most importantly: more stuff to do. Here, I'm really looking forward to planetary exploration on planets with life. I've recently bought NMS (though I never thought I'd take the plunge) and while it's far from perfect, exploration is fun. Can't say the same in ED - just never really got excited about flying to different colored balls that I can admire from a distance.
-
Elite has so much going for it: graphics, sound, flight model, multiplayer etc. I really cannot wait for the day when Frontier focus more on adding life to the Galaxy and giving us more to do vs. just adding more features. And passenger missions don't count (they're just cargo delivery missions with a slight twist). I'm excited for the future; I just hope that future isn't too far away.
