I hope this is a bug / unintended behaviour, or just me going nuts.

I hope this is a mistake of some sort.
I just took 5 passenger missions, mostly beacuse 4 of them were to the same places.
I have gone and visited each place in turn as it shows up on the galaxy map.
After, an hour and a half jumping about, i know my next location should be the last one.
However, after that, it sent me to one i've been to before.
No worries, maybe i got mixed up.
Now though, it's sent me back to the place i visited first (and it is really annoying me as it's 15 minutes in supercruise to get to the beacon).

So, is this a "thing"? related to mission stacking? if i have 5 passengers going to the same places i have to visit those places seperately for each of the passengers? It's not making sense to me, i know for a fact that the last place and the current place i am going to i have already visited on this trip, surely it should have ticked off that location for the 3 passengers i have that are going there, not just one at a time? I can't even figure out how that would happen.
I really hope that it's just a one off bug/error or i somehow am going crazy. Between all 5 passengers there were only 4 locations to visit, i am now on my 6th location and apparently only 2 of the missions are complete.

Has anyone else noticed this? I am happy to accept if it's somehow my fault lol.

It might be this - when you logon to the board, one of the missions for that location will be at the top, ready for you to hand in (or disembark in this case). But once you've handed it in, the next doesn't jump up automatically, it's just highlighted further down the list. At that point you could just log off, leave, and not realise there's still other factions you've still to hand in to?

I've done that before, although I may be thinking missions, not passengers. I was then off at a different system before realising I still had missions to hand in at the last system.

You could try dropping on the beacon then jumping into supercruise (or menu log) and dropping again to refresh the instance and scan the same Beacon again for the next tourist until all for that Beacon have been updated.

you have to take the destinations in the order the mission tells you.

simply because FDEV couldn't find another way to fix an issue where you just had to go to the LAST destination given, and to be precise, only to a random visitor beacon in the last system,
to finish those toursist missons.

if that is what you are asking

not sure what happened, i hadn't got to turning them in, it just seemed to be sending me back to the same place several times to complete all of them.
I might be getting confused and there were several beacons in the same system... What might have happened is that it says there are 4 places to visit, but the top line of the mission only shows 3 of them, so i had more to visit than i thought and several were in the same system, and rather than show me them at once, it sent me back and forward, not sure.
Anyway, all done now, but what should have been a 4 location run ended up being 7 locations, suppose i'll just have to be more careful in future :)

Yes, there is still a minor bug when you take multiple missions to the same system. In this case, if you also have missions for another system, then they get completed in the wrong order (in fact, it seems that they get completed in the order in which you took them).

I did intend to get a video of this and bug it, but I haven't got round to it yet. I can reproduce it at will, though, so it is definitely a bug.

It took me a while to figure this out and since then I rarely take more than 2 VIP passenger missions at the same time.

1. There is the order in which you take the missions.
2. But then even more important is the order of destinations must be taken within each mission. For example, Passenger 1 wants to go to Systems A->B->C, but Passenger 2 wants to go to B-A-C, you will not be satisfying both Passengers at the same time by scanning Beacon A (if you go there first). In this scenario, Passenger 1 would tell you to go to System B next and that would work for both Passengers, but P2 will still want you to go back to Beacon A again and won't progress the mission any further because it will be out of sequence for him/her/it.

This is why I ended up using the Orca--which I like far more than Fat *ss Beluga--because of the ridiculous logistics of compiling the most efficient route plan when ferrying a bunch of VIPs. For the most part, I did not complete the missions any quicker and risked multiple mission failures in the rare instances something went wrong.

Disclaimer: this is based on the 2.4 mission system, I had not taken any VIPs yet in 3.0 so if they changed something in 3.0 then this info is out of date so please ignore.

Oh wait. I appear to have had a brain fart while replying... I didn't realise you were talking about passenger missions! Could be a similar bug, but where I've noticed things go wrong is with planetary scan missions. They complete in the wrong order when you have multiple missions to the same system and some to another (you still have to complete each one separately, but chances are you can do them all in the one system, depending upon the order that you took the missions).

Sorry... Really not sure why I thought planetary scan missions. :D
