Decided to listen to a new playlist on Spotify today. In fact, I'm still listening.

Old school metal.

Being the filthy 90's kid I am, I never got much exposure to bands like Iron Maiden or Metallica.

I would like to apologise.

This sound is good.

This:

Do yourself a massive favour and stick Motorhead’s Overkill on youtube :)

RIP Lemmy and Filthy, you will always be missed.

What the guy above me says about NiN..... you should also look for a band called The Almighty (hard rock).

Metallica rule!

(Also Rush).

Dude, Un1!!!!!

You just discovered Maiden? Their first seven albums are the best. That was their heyday.

Iron Maiden
Killers
Number of the Beast
Piece of Mind
Powerslave
Somewhere in Time
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son

Listen and fall in love.

You should also invest some time in Black Sabbath. It's a bit more bluesy, a bit more psychadelic, but it's pure metal.

Iron Maiden is iconic, so is many old the old school metal bands.

Not known as a metal band but I do defy you ... Pink Floyd One of these days

Bon Scott, early AC/DC? Powerage or Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. Motorhead / Zeppelin have been mentioned (though that clip of Immigrant Song is maybe a cover recording. I think?)

About to get back on Spotify and add albums to my list. All this jazz (metal) is new to me. Up until this point everything I'd been listening to was 21st century.

Check out Black Stone Cherry as well. Really good band.

DUDE, REALLY???!!!!!

You have been missing out totally. Everyone has their fave's but here's a few of mine.....

Early Black Sabbath, as in their first album as well as Master of Reality and Paranoid.
Early Metallica - Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets rule. Kill Them All is pretty epic too.
Pantera - Vulgar Display of Power is my fave.
Slayer - Reign in Blood - rumored to be the fastest metal recorded at the time. Epic!
Early solo Ozzy Osbourne with Randy Rhoads. And anything with Zakk Wylde.
Of course Motorhead. Spin. Listen. Enjoy.

Oh so much good stuff from late last century! Expand your horizons young one! :D

I'm going to be straight up. A big reason I've missed out on a lot was my childhood. Not looking for sympathy here. Just telling a fact.

Growing up I suffered something of a phobia of music. Pretty common for us on the spectrum.

I only really recovered at the end of college. You have metal in general to thank for that.

These days I find the change quite amusing lol. :p

I'll tell you something... This sound makes me feel a happy I've not felt in a long time.

It's like, I feel really happy. To the point I just want everyone else to join the happiness.

This stuff is so different because, whilst the rebellious sound I love, it's also inclusive & welcoming.
