Oh that feeling of "No, no , no , no" as the back wall of the station is approaching your face. Panic sets in you try to turn, take assist off and get throttle moving in other direction all to no avail.

lost about .5 Mil in combined unclaimed bounties, repair and cargo. Lesson learned.


I was told there would be cake though, where is my cake?

4 pips to shields saved me once when I hit an outpost at 222 ms in a sidewinder (pressed FA-Off instead of "set speed to zero" after boosting :p).

Otherwise yeah boosting into a solid object has got me killed basically every time except for today when I hit an adder at 350 ms and only lost a tiny bit of shield on my Eagle...

Where the heck were you 20 minutes ago! But yes sound advise and no one to blame except myself. All in all I am more disappointed in those 2 anaconda bounties of 170k+ that did not register on my next run out.

I got into the habit of putting all my pips to shields when entering a station. One time I was doing this and going through the docking door at a nice slow pace when I suddenly remembered I was carrying stolen goods. I panicked. When I panic and I want to move fast I press boost. Great! I got in without being scanned, but the back of the station was approaching at a rapid rate. With a lot of reverse thrust and manoeuvring I managed to hit the wall at a speed that didn't kill me, but I had no shields and my ship was stuck on that funny spike thing. I could see my hull deteriorate as I tried to free myself. I panicked. I hit the thrust button. Yikes!

The cake is, of course, a lie.

However, congratulations on joining the High-Speed Docking Club. All the best people are members, and as the saying goes "if you haven't plastered yourself across the back wall, you haven't lived."

That's a great name. It's exactly what it is, could even be faster than regular.
