I just discovered heaven is in Bury near Manchester , It calls itself Arcade Club

Its basically an arcade that has hundreds of machines both old and new, all the classics as well as VR stuff and Japanese games you dont see normally outside Japan.

£15 for full access and you can play all the games you want without any extra charge until shutting up time.

Its got bar and grub as well.

It means heading into Mordor from God's Own Country, but it might be worth the trip. The video on the website about how it came about is great.

Gorf lol (Robot voice) Insert Coin. Indiana Jones, Gauntlet and Gauntlet 2. Return of the Jedi. That's it i'm going. Gonna practise on MAME and then rinse the high scores. Elf on Gauntlet watch for Nec as the high score. I'll play it from the moment it opens until it shuts. Anyone joins in will die.

Anyone in the southwest Bridgwater (without the E) has a retro arcade too but it is very small. It is some blokes passion project, he works full time so it's only open Friday evening and weekends. http://www.timewarparcade.co.uk/ well worth a look if you are in the area. I think about 100 games. 45 machines and various consoles and stuff.

My brother has the original 4 player Gauntlet arcade cabinet game. It's sweeeet.

I saw the program on TV years ago where he set up. Gutted it was not there when I lived up north. I am convinced there is a market for this elsewhere

Sounds good, trouble is anywhere north of Oxford is Hell [haha]

Try East Anglia. :)

Geographically the closest point to our targets in Europe, and Russia.

It's littered with abandoned bases, many of them re-purposed, or demolished for other use. Mine has a Cold War museum, or used to.

On topic: Places that cater to gamers are few, and far between. Meetup.com is usually the place to find a gamer-friendly location in the US.
