I just dreamed last night I did an on foot Deep Core Mining

I'd be absolutely content with a MINING TOOL on my SRV instead of a BLASTER I shoot rocks with...

People. We are shooting rocks and crystals and other thingies with a (lore-unfriendly) blaster to then collect materials super mario style!
If it was a laser, that would at least fit Elite lore... That StarWars-esque blaster though...

Unlike SRV (research and combat) we don't even have a fighter for mining. We could drill an asteroid with a Fighter and T8 would collect ore.
And to do this you only need to do one complicated action, replace the laser with a Taipan.

That's the next one, yes. When Ship Launched Fighters came, it again was combat only... Why not ship launched vessels or something... They introduced controllable drones launched from our ships, why not use it for anything else than pew pew?!
Put seismic charges and an abrasion blaster on it and it makes an excellent mining drone... I mean... It's a no-brainer, isn't it?!

There were hundreds of such offers in the offer section ... I think it's too expensive and not as interesting as Colonization for 10 years.
