UA's themselves are fairly "done and dusted". Sell it to a station you don't like the look of, blow it up and scoop up the unknown fragments for Palin (engineer) or work out why the heck it points to the Merope star.
Ok, I'm not liking that Sirius Free are in control of Patterson Enterprise in Sirius, would that diminish their influence in the system and help flip it to Sirius Corp, or just cause me lots of trouble as it's my home port? I might do it anyway to see what happens.
Selling things on the black market hurts the controlling faction's influence. UAs, in enough quantity, will affect the station operation. One won't do much though.
Remember anything you do in any game mode can and will affect all other modes. If you were to UA bomb a station, and should it suffer the effects ie shut down services, it will do that in all game modes, potentially affecting a lot of players. Just something to consider.
Also, you have no idea if anyone else has delivered UAs there, maybe by accident. Even just one more might push the station into shutting down. Thats a major station, do you really want to risk that?

Don't tempt me even more than I already am! how many pieces of unkown artifact do you need for Palin and will they clog up my cargo hold and make me a pirate magnet? I've not even collected enough modular whatsits to unlock Qwent yet so thats an awfully long way off.
Edit: Just seen that you need 25 unknown fragments for Palin, so apologies in advance but I'm selling it to Patterson Enterprise. If it all goes pear shaped ok..... IT WAS ME!!!!

I picked one up ages ago - didn't know what it was nor its in-game significance, so I sold it at the first station I came to. Oh hum.
If you destroy the artefact it will turn into unknown fragments which are classed as materials, and do not take up any room in your cargo.
Did you happen to remember where you found it exactly?
I found it very close to a Tip Off on Omega-1 Aquarii 3, Lat:86.72 Lon:-165.15.

Unknown Artefacts will appear in USS locations that are 135 - 150(?) from Merope. The USS when selected will say Anomaly Detected Threat level 4. It sits there waiting for something to scan... you.
