And I just gotta say WOWZERS! Who knew stuff could look this awesome?!
It replaced a regular ol' Acer 23" workstation type 60Hz 1080p monitor. Not only is the new one bigger but it's clearly better in every way. 144Hz, 2560x1440, substantially more vibrant colors, 4ms response and it's got the Blue light thingy and the Flicker free thing going on. And it's curved too.
Too bad I can't use the Free Sync feature or it might be just that much better. I'm feeding the display with an EVGA FTW2 GTX 1080 but a G-Sync monitor is just too far out of reach for me. Oh well.
I will say that the monitor is getting the 1080 all warmed up now with the new resolution. I was running like 41c in Elite on the crappy monitor. Now the card is actually having to work and is warming up to around 58-59c with the fans around 50%.
I think I'm gonna like this new display a lot!
