I've also been playing since pre-beta. I love Elite as well, but I do play other games, too.
I especially love the scientific accuracy: the scale, the measurement units, star names and locations, planet surfaces and geology, lack of anti-gravity etc. There is a lot of room for improvements, so I love to wait and see what FD can bring us this year. And the next 30 years

I'm not big on astronomy, but the game is always surprising me on its accuracy. In the fringes, I'm finding gas giants with stupidly large rings and thinking that wouldn't be possible in reality. But hearing explosions in space and seeing where you're going in FTL travel? Yeah...
Are you saying the rest of my list aren't scientifical or accurate?
- Measurement units: c, ls, ly, km/s, km/h
- Visible stars are where they are supposed to be (or close enough for me)
- Planets look like real planets, not random features placed at random
- There is no anti-gravity, is there?
I thought these were not matters of opinion.
