I just wanted a drink...

So, after a long trip to a military outpost, hoping to get one of the new SRVs, I stopped at the bar and called over the bartender. "Got some goods to trade," he said, in a quiet voice. "No, I just want a drink," says I, and he thanked me for wasting his time before NOT providing me with a tasty libation.

What kind of bar will NOT serve drinks?

Oh, and why is EVERY mission illegal?

Dunno why OP.
Maybe something to do with the PEGI rating of the game? dunno what the rules are around selling 'alcohol?' to minor's in a computer game 🤷‍♂️

Likely though to be animation & coding.
You get a drink at the bar, you need to ask for it......choice appears
pay for it.......credit reduction from account noted & appears on screen.
Once you've got it, you then need to be able to drink it.......knock it back or sip?.......requires animation rather than just going into our 'inventory' like everything else does;).
Then do you have to have some sort of drunken indicator monitoring how much you've taken in & maybe then start getting staggering movement?
Suggestions then go on & on......

One good thing is that the Devs introduced the emotes recently for stuff like saluting, waving, etc. So they could have one for a drink movement.

Bad thing is that there's very little 'hand' interaction in Odyssey, you never 'pick' anything up in-game, it alway goes straight to your inventory or appears in our hand in front of us like the scanner & tools do.

It's up to the Dev teams to decide whether it's worth their time against what benefits they feel it provides to game play........at launch they thought it didn't, along with sitting down on seats.
Maybe they'll surprise us & bring these into the game in the near future.........there were a lot of seats in that Carrier trailer;)

As for illegal Missions.....RUBBISH! there's loads of LEGAL Missions to be had, where are you looking OP?

But killing people is fine. :)

Yep, for some reason the people responsible make a sharp distinction between killing other people and using drugs ad alchohol, if it was possible to drink it may not have been passed in Australia. For instance the Weed Mod for Minecraft PE was banned in Australia, Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure was banned for glorifying graffiti, if the classification board in Australia can find a reason they'll ban it, don't you worry!

Who in his right mind wants to order a drink if you can't pick up the glass, let alone drink it... Who cares about a drink, if you could have guns inside the concourse?

"Selling, trading, or bo..."
BLAM

They just put the drink in your survival suit's water pouch, and you suck it out of a tube in your helmet.

After a drink you'd want to go to a restroom... as you can see, things can go downhill really fast

And no, not every mission is illegal, although i did noticed that some systems do seem to generate a higher proportion of illegal missions

I don't understand why Fdev choose to not include "contacts" as NPCs you visit, rather than still using tab on the menu thing. I would love another corridor filled with contacts to sell my bounties, Pay fines, sell to the black market or normal market and other "contact" activities. When at stations this should all be done with NPCs, not the computer thing.

Australia also banned Drakensang (still banned), the first Risen game (still banned), a load of cutscenes from the first two Witcher games, and it's the reason most games have 'stimpaks' instead of adrenaline. We also got the low-violence version of many games (e.g. Saints Row 4).

After many, many years of lobbying we finally got an 18+ rating for games which would have otherwise been banned - but drug and alcohol use are still a nope.

Heh, I really just posted in jest, but there's some actual answers in here. Good job, all.
Humour is always a good option!

Although if you paid attention to the the sneek peek at FC interiors last week, you may have noticed that a chair flagged a message "too far to interact"... It appears sitting down may be possible... Who knows what else may happen? (Yeah, I know, Frontier does, naturally!)
