I know this has been said before but...

For the love of God and All that is Holy and Good, will someone please clean my fricking cockpit glass.

This is just ridiculous, seriously. I can't even see the name of the sun through that haze.
And the mouse widget is all but invisible...

I agree. It's a nice and most of the time enjoyable effect. In beta combined with a lens flare it can create a very atmospheric images, especially in ice rings and with more interestingly coloured stars.
But it can be obnoxious and I think it should reset when you visit the station or have your paint work repaired and stuff. Or there should be an option in repair menu - Polish my windows. :D

Agreed... I would love to see some chap with a bottle of windex and a squeegy EVAing outside your ship and giving the windows a good buffing.

You would think that your shields would prevent space dust from scratching the cockpit canopy, after all, they prevent missiles and bullets from getting through.

That is a good point. I had just assumed that the ships were old, which in the case of the Viper MK3 is true because they are no longer manufactured.

However, RP aside, I think it's just a case of "cool" taken too far, to the point where it actually impedes enjoyment in this case.

Chris above used the word obnoxious, which under certain conditions I think it really is.
Anyway, I've posted it as a bug in the appropriate forum.

Hey I think Python is in production since 2700 or so. If original models still fly I would expect scratches deep as Ariel's canyons. :D

It should be part of the wear and tear as far as I'm concerned.

I personally like having it, but then again it's barely noticeable on my Imperial ships due to the curvature of the canopy.

Elite Dangerous 2.5 will add a man in an EVA suit with a mop outside every station who will clean your windows for you for 10 Credits.
