I know where I'm landing 1st when Horizons launches

Ok it wasn't the first place I landed, I found the Jovian moons too irresistible, but I am glad I waited until Beta 3, because now my SRV framerate is now good enough to snap this picture of a knife-edge canyon on Mitterand Hollow.

THANK YOU FRONTIER!

Yeah I have to chip in here.. This is one special place.. I got into orbital cruise around the moon and suddenly the big blue planet came into view.. I thought it was going to hit me. Of all my gaming experiences going there has to be one of the most epic moments.. ;)

Yeah I am glad that Obsidian made the video popularizing this little gem. When I got there, there were 2 other CMDRs racing the moon trying to get into orbital cruise. Quite a challenge just to get there. But I finally realized that I could just wait on the orbit line for the moon to come and scoop me up.

Looks like you found your jagged surface features ;)

Awesome shot there.

...and my second reaction after that one was "how the heck am I supposed to land on it". After chasing it for a couple of orbits and barely gaining a few hundred meters.

The next best moment will come if you manage to go into orbit and see the planet racing through the sky. I won't even try to imagine how that would look like in a VR setup - I almost got motion sickness just from watching it on a regular monitor.

Don't catch it. Let it catch you. Fly in the opposite direction of its orbit and intercept it.
