Just what the title says. It's how I have fun in Elite. I try to make as much money as I possibly can, although that's been getting less and less interesting with each update. Robigo runs were a blast to do (not the cheaty "sell all your slaves and re-buy them" crap), and required a good set-up and timing. They were high-risk, high-reward missions that actually rewarded you. Then, those missions were removed from the game entirely, and the next thing was Sothis and Ceos runs. They took a bit of work to get the required rank for good missions in both systems, but once you got there they paid decently (if only for ships with large cargo holds). After that, there was the 17 Draconis skimmer bug - which I didn't participate in because A) it was kind of obvious that it was a bug, and B) it wasn't much fun. That was patched as well. Along came the planetary base scanning missions in Quince, which made decent money but were pretty boring to do. Finally, Rhea popped up with good, profitable bulk passenger missions, and those were nerfed into the ground almost immediately. So badly that passenger missions to Colonia are still paying nothing.
It seems to me that the ways to make big money are getting more and more boring, and disappearing much quicker than they used to. What happened to high risk = high reward? I have a Corvette, now give me something challenging to fight with it (Thargoids don't really count here because it would literally take me an entire hour to get to the places they're at in my Corvette). I have a Cutter, now I just need missions that want me to trade 740 tons of something at once for big money.
