Newcomer / Intro I love these empty roads

Just visited Rocklynne Port in the LIEH TZU system & checked the 24 hour Traffic Report...just one ship...a solitary Hauler...MY trusty Hauler...I love these empty roads :) ...they really help show the vastness & isolation that would exist if this was real...or maybe it is real ?? ;) ...

...time to trek out again to those distant stars

Hey...wow, I thought those reports were just fluff and made up?

They report player traffic, but not NPC traffic.

I've come back from deep-space exploration and docked at a small outpost where my ship has been the only traffic in the last 24 hours.

It must be as exciting for the inhabitants to see a new face as it is for me to see a safe harbour :)

Why would you think that? Everything is real on GALNET. I learned that after FNS Nevermore. ;)

Must have missed that one...what was the FNS Evermore??

True. Returned from exploring & docked first at Hembal which had 4 ships I think, & then moved around a few systems & stations to see a bit more life & pick up some provisions. But already have itchy feet & need to take off again...bit like Costner at the end of Waterworld!

When I found my "home" system no one else had been there, that was part of the reason I settled. It's quite busy now. I think we have 6 regulars.

Just came back from a 5 day trip into the void and docked at an outer system station which was rather quiet as well.

Hi :)

I actually find this aspect of the systems (through traffic) interesting to observe, in the game.
In my 'home' system/s there's about six to ten 'regulars', I've never met any of them as I play mostly solo, but over time I can see which nearby systems they've probably visited the most.
I have three ships at the moment which I use for various missions, so I can dock at all types of station in the surrounding areas/systems. The nearby systems with just the small ports usually show very little through traffic. Obviously the larger Orbital ports get the most traffic, as there's a good percentage of large ships operating in the area, which are unable to land at the smaller ports.
.
I'm pretty much allied to all the factions in these nearby systems, so I get profitable trade runs through most of the trade mission structure here, which also include trips to the small ports.
At certain times of the week it's pretty quiet, then towards the weekend it gets quite busy, so I can gauge roughly when it's best to pick up some very well paid trade missions at certain times of the week.
I do pop into Open play now and again, mainly to see if there are any open play Cmdr's about. Never seen any as yet, so I presume they're also in solo like myself! :D
.
At the week end the traffic rises into the hundreds, but it's usually the regulars that are causing this upsurge. At this precise moment I'm 'sharing' a couple of systems with an Anaconda, a T7, an Orca, Cobra and an Asp. The Orca & Asp are mine, with an occasional Adder that I take out for some light combat/trading from time to time.
The traffic is winding down a bit now from the last weekend...but no doubt the 'holiday/weekend' traffic will bump up sharply from Friday afternoon and through this coming weekend again! :D

Jack :)
