I made a quick video to help new explorers see if a system has been discovered or not, hope it helps.

I just look at the scanner, see if the primary star appears after about 2 seconds. Was that the content of the video?

Basically, if the planets etc appear in the nav panel as unexplored, or show on the radar, then someone has already been there. I thought he was going to show some sort of trick to work it out before you jump there, but nope. Oh yes, the text overlay is the most annoying this I have seen in ages!

I just got annoyed that they used yellow circles to highlight things rather than the universally prescribed red circles that must be used to highlight blinkin' obvious things on videos... :)

Seriously though, yes the content is blindingly obvious to people who have been around a bit (or have ventured beyond the bubble) but the info is useful for complete tyros - shame about the production style but kudos to you @Aaron T for taking the trouble to try to help.

Try to do something to help noobs and veterans just pick you apart for having text in video.

I have a speech impediment. My days of trying to be helpful are over.

It's not text in the video, it's the way the text is put into the video, honestly when the huge scrolling test started shooting past I just paused the video and moved on, that is the single worst way to display text in a video and many people will indeed just shut the video and move on, it's like the old flashing text and scrolling marquees used long ago and since abandoned for being, well, horrible to actually read. Just put your text in a static paragraph at the bottom of the page and it will be fine.

Thank you. I am an old dog and this is a new trick. I will work on it. I did add the text when nothing was happening, but will use static text from now on.

That wold be much better, break it into separate paragraphs if it's to much and place it in relevant parts of the video. What happens with rapidly scrolling text, specially for people with visual problems such as vertigo, is that eyes start following the text and flicking up and down to keep up with it, this is not a pleasant sensation and you would be surprised at the number of people who do suffer from these conditions. I used to have it really bad a number of years ago and this sort of scrolling text is often enough to bring back the sensation. Any video with scrolling text usually gets immediately skipped unless it's a "very" slow scroll.
