I've never been banned (though I think that's mainly because things were more relaxed mod wise until about a year ago) but I do have a couple of infractions. Earned in the last year.

If you're still posting on the forum, then you haven't been banned. "Banned" is permanent ... I've been "Suspended" from the forum, but not banned.
EDIT: That is the forum's / Moderation Team's wording, not mine, as per the forum rules.
EDIT 2: Which doesn't actually use the word "Banned" either

Back around the time I joined the forum, the forum ranks were changed to Elite rankings, and a list was posted of the number of posts for each ranking. They follow the original Elite ranks, so there is a big gap from Dangerous to Deadly, and Elite is at 6,000 posts.

And I don't understand why they made Elite 400 posts too 'easy'...

IMO the forum ranks should have been modeled afte original Elite kill counts:

0x0000 - Harmless
0x0008 - Mostly Harmless
0x0010 - Poor
0x0020 - Average
0x0040 - Above Average
0x0080 - Competent
0x0200 - Dangerous
0x0A00 - Deadly
0x1900 - Elite
which translates to
0 - Harmless
8 - Mostly Harmless
16 - Poor
32 - Average
64 - Above Average
128 - Competent
512 - Dangerous
2560 - Deadly
6400 - Elite
