I made human contact yesterday!

Finally, after going from my spawn system to Sol and back someone made contact via comms with me - I always try to say Hi commander but never got any response

.
So I jumped into the Nav beacon and spotted 4 or 6 player Cobras. One asked me if i'm bounty hunting, so I said `yes`, and he said - `get off my lawn this is our hunting ground!`.
5 vs 1 well, I backed off - let them have their fun - but I was happy that I made my first contact with someone lol

I try to hail commanders often, but very rarely get a response.

Problem I have is shelf space, I can have a keyboard/mouse or a X52 pro, not both. If I'm flying and don't respond that's why

But then again I try to be nice if hailed. Hailing is good.

I'd use the comm more often if I had ten more fingers

Also there should be some sort of sound effect when you receive a message!

Yep I agree, just like receiving a text on your mobile
