I met my first Thargoid today and wasn't attacked...

I was collecting Thargoid materials for Palin, out near Maia. I'm in my unarmed AspX and got hyperdicted, deactivated, scanned, and then the Thargoid left peacefully, just like in the first encounters.

Is that still supposed to happen? I thought the Thargoids were hostile now. Was I just lucky, because I had no cargo?

Yes it's still supposed to happen.

It's a different story if you have Alien cargo onboard such as Thargoid Sensors or Probes.

- You come within 500m of range and don't leave
- They scan you and you have Thargoid or Guardian materials on board; or
