If you get close enough even the smallest red dwarf would look huge.
This star is large indeed, but nothing spectacular. Think it was <300RSol. This type of star can go up to 500.
I am just unusually close to it :)

You should head for Colonia, it's a lot closer from there than the bubble.
Try to dock caotiously if you don't have a shield :)

Or wait for help as others suggested

A friend of mine lost sensors while bounty hunting once. Couldn't request docking or target anything since the sensors didn't detect the station or anything (in Contacts). Repair limpets now being available with 2.4's release, a savior with one of the new RLCs should be able to fix up the ship and modules enough to get 'er done. Perhaps a bit late but... Fly safe, Cmdr.

You could always repair your sensors with an AFMU.
Repair limptets will only repair the Hull. If your sensors are down, nobody else can repair them for you.

If you don't have an AFM, A reboot and repair will usually bring the sensors online long enough to request docking.

Think all giant stars in ED are designated as Supergiants. I am not expert, but from what i know A (or B) I0 type of stars actually should be Hypergiants. Guess FD decided to ignore Hypergiant designation altogether.

Shields, chaff, cargo hatch, docking computer and sensors are completely dead. The rest are between 26-98%.
Even if make it back to the Bubble, entering it with 5% hull and no chaff and shields gives me shivers
You can do a reboot/repair cycle - in normal space - to get a couple of percent integrity back on those modules (which you'll need to do at some point because you can't request docking clearance without functional sensors)

This *will* cost some of your hull, so you might want to wait until you've had a repair ship put that back. It'll also cost you about 15 seconds of life support oxygen - hopefully you have plenty to spare.

Iridium Wing will definitely get you an escort to any bubble or Colonia region station of your choice, to make sure nothing goes wrong on the final few hundred LY of approach and make sure no-one gets close enough to you for you to need the chaff - see the link in my signature. If you haven't met a repair ship before then we'll include one in the escort wing.

Good luck.

It seems that clas IA stars are "bright supergiants" though I haven't found a classification for hypergiants yet.

Edit:

Wikipedia says this, 0 or Ia+ (hypergiants or extremely luminous supergiants). Example: Cygnus OB2#12 (B3-4Ia+)
Ia (luminous supergiants). Example: Eta Canis Majoris (B5Ia)

Or he could have just rebooted his ship. I have experienced this problem before.

Yes, that is what i intend to do - wait for the repairs and then reboot. Hope that will bring the sensors back. If not, i am in trouble.
Iridium Wing escort sounds like a very good idea, thanks for the offer. I will drop you a note when i am close to my home system (Aluriates).
