I might have found the origins of the Jameson Family

We know David Braben likes classic scifi, hence the myriad 2001: A Space Odyssey references in Elite, now I have stumbled upon a nineteen thirties scifi novel, which might be the origins for the family name used for the default CMDR name in pervious games and keyplayer in the thargoid narative - the Jamesons - came from. Turns out there was this novel "The Jameson Satellite", written in 1931...

...Do you reckon that novel is the reason the main characters of Elite were / are the Jamesons? Any other key characters / references we have in game that you recognise as being tributes to other cult scifi?

Neil R Jones was the author, it was the first book of a series.
