picture it, 1984, I go over to my friends place, I see something I've never, ever seen before. I convince my mother to buy it..she does, and so starts and addiction that has lasted 30 odd years.....all you young       complaining about this game.......can you say the game you like has lasted this long. Elite is NOT and I HOPE will never be a main stream game... it is unique, it's the first of it's kind, think about it, 30 years ago it was released, and now, 30 years later, yeah, the graphics are super pretty, but it IS THE SAME GAME. I don't understand why everyone keeps comparing it to all the games based on it...you can not do that, this game is NOT the other games. it's Elite, After 30 years of playing...I can assure you, Elite isn't TRYING to be them other games, they are TRYING to be Elite, SO.........

So, how about you all relax and take the game as it's supposed to be. As it was Designed

It is not Freelancer ( yeah EvE      off, they did it first)

Elite is definitely not older than I am. Heck, "Dark Side of the Moon" is younger than I am.

But it really is funny how often people read my criticism of something, and assume I'm a "15 yr old ganker who wants everything handed to them on a silver platter."

I was 12 when I started playing this...I'm 44 now....you may have missed some years. again seeing the posts..people dont' get it...(sigh) I LOVE in game when I meet a young commander, who is friendly and not a ole. spent like 5 hours with one the other night, i'm 44, the other night, spend 4 hours with a stranger, we had so much fun, driving all over a planet, wrecking      when it showed up, then going out own way when done....I'm happy to say, she's on my friends list now.


She was Less than half my age, but her father played the game, made her play it, now she's addict.

I agree with everything you said, the idea behind Elite is more than 30 years old, computers are more powerful, the engine is modern but the idea is the same and being implemented pretty much like the original Elite but with new features and gameplay but yes, Elite is Elite and like I said in another thread, the other games in the genre are not even close at being this awesome, I understand your addiction cause I've been playing Elite since Elite II, I played III and now Elite Dangerous which is the best game I've ever played in my life, now with Multiplayer and rovers you can explore planets with, really Awesome!

I also agree whiners should stop whining about the game, it's sad when they come to the forum whining about combat being too difficult, travel taking too long etc LOL, Space is huge guys and any game making it mignaturized like NO MAN'S SKY , Star citizen or other games they are simply lying to you, Elite is 1:1 scale, get used to it LOL
