so I was mining for some iron, and thought, HMMMMM why not tryign to mine off some mats and see if that amazing shieldless t6 gathers that mined off crumbs as well.

I hold my mining beams right at the spot at which he mined, aaaand got fined, because npc's gather the crumbs by fling in and of course he flew in my beams.
And suddenly everyone in his wing panicked.

lead is down? what weird thing have they smoked? that was 0,5secs of 3 beaing lasers, nothing is down except your countenance. What are those sidey wing mates even there for if once their T6 gets hit by a scratch act like this?

just was trying to mine at the same spot on the rock as him, to see if they gather what floats around even if not mined by them. but mining NPC behavior is like this: mine a piece off, fly towards the piece, magically gather it (because his canopy is noweere in the rigth place to scopp it in). But doing so lets them nearly bump into the asteroid as thy go REAL close, so close he even crossed my minign beams with soewthign like an 75 degree angle compared to his position.

Some NPC's mine by manually scooping. Some use Limpets.
For laughs, pull up next to an NPC mining by manually scooping and deploy a swarm of collector limpets at watch what happens.

because those other guys who think my mined stuff belongs to them.

but the truth is, it's actually not a fine I got, it's bounty just becauise soeone crosses my mining beams X

th worst from this is just the relatively huge effort getting rid of 200cr bounty



in fact I think this needs to be fixed I can just imagne how some trolls might start "minign beam runs" and put bounties on innocent miners before shooting the legally down for "bounty" Thats actually a very abusable thing to troll others.

There's a lot of stupidity and failed logic in ED, NPCs flying into a mining laser should not incur a fine, let alone a bounty. And to make it even worse, until they patch in the minor bounty fix, you have the pain of trying to hit up an IF in your hot ship to clear this 200cr bounty. Anything small should never be a bounty, ever.

Quite honestly, I have failed to understand logic from most UK developers over the last 3 decades. At this point I have stopped trying.

I'm fairly sure mining lasers were changed a while ago to do no damage because of players deliberately flying into other player's mining beams then killing them. So I hold this OP's account with some scepticism. Especially as I can see no mining lasers in that screenshot. :)
