I miss the Hyperspace clouds :(

Will we see Hyperspace clouds in Elite Dangerous?

I recall one of the tutorials it looked like some NPC appear from hyperspace clouds...

I miss them :'(

Agreed. I have mentioned this myself on several occasions.
I would like there to be a cool entry and exit effect.
At the moment it is a bit of an anti-climax.

I am still hoping an effect will be added, but the mere fact that there still is none makes me doubt FD intends to do this.

Yep. Completely agree that the hyperspace clouds would be nice to have back. And I'm not a fan of the current FSD drive flares - really preferred the old blue 'fireflies'. The new wake trails I quite like, but the flares obscure everything and aren't subtle.

I agree with that too. The flares are just too much.

+1 to bringing back the Hyperspace clouds. Am REALLY hoping that the current iteration of them is a placeholder......

+1 the old sc flares were much better. .

I think it would be cool to integrate doppler shifting into drive flare color so that ships getting closer to you are bluer and ships getting farther from you are redder. The more intense the color, the greater the change in distance. It would also be a cool aid for using interdiction since you could gauge the difference in speed visually.

Exit FSD signatures are highly visible on the HUD, would make sense to make them as visually obviouse aswell. As for entry clouds maybe lore wise it could stand that any exhaust produced by the ship during hyperspace travels with the ship, and upon exiting it comes to a halt just behind the ship as a substantial cloud of... Idk whatever exhaust that elite ships produce. This could play into game mechanics aswell when fuel types are released, as one fuel type could leave very obviouse exit/entry clouds, while a specialised type could provide a much less persistent footprint at the cost of CR aswell as general fuel performance.

That's an absolutely top idea.

You should put that in the Elite: Dangerous Gameplay and Features section as a [REQUEST].

+1. I love this idea. :)
On a side note: Because of blue/red shift, ships travelling at the same speed as yourself would (I assume) have white wake trails, so there may have to be some way of distinguishing them from nearby stars. Suggestions ?

The new FSD trails look like brooms and when ships change orientation they rotate like they are stuck in the ship's rear. :D
No curvature at all. :p
Oh, and they are too flamboyant for my taste.

Umm - so did anybody figure out what the peek of the week was in newsletter 47?

Looks like it could be a entrance cloud for hyperspace to me, and even if its not - I'm sure Frontier will add one.
