I miss the old Dropship before it had military slots

Something a bit different but I miss the old pre military slot Dropship.

I never used it for pure combat or brick ramming but as a niche medium sized combat miner or combat trader. I know it's expensive but it would be really fun to have as a Void Opal miner... yeah I know it's expensive. However from a cosmetic point of view it looks like a big bulky carrier.

I wish we could pay to convert the military slots over to standard slots but with a punishment such as more weight for example.

Please Frontier Pimp my Dropship

Do you realize that those military slots were added on top of the normal optional slots the Dropship originally had? If you want the "old Dropship" back, it would be exactly the same as it is now, just without the two military slots. Just leave them empty to get the same result.

My experience of the fed' piggies was always that they had dreadful jump range, which always put a giant dent in their usefulness.

They do make nice little tanks, I suppose, but in these days of unlimited credits, you might as well just buy one of the big 3 and do it properly instead.

What's the point to most ships in the game? Or to the game itself? The freeing up of credits has made the game totally pointless to me. I used to do a lot of transport missions... What's the point? If I need money, just deep core mining. What to do for fun? Base attack, surface salvage, Black Box missions, rescue missions... Why do the repetitive missions over and over like a rat in the maze?

PvP combat is a bore... My shields is bigger than yours! [rolleyes]

Exploration is vast ly improved, and just as repetitive as before. It used to be Jump, fuel, honk and repeat... Now it's jump, fuel, look for blue blobs and repeat, such vast improvement... [sour]

Hell, even the forums aren't that much fun, new threads fill half the first, page todays commented threads will barely span the first page and there are a ton of necro threads on the first page as well.

Whatever, I'm going back to the other games. Later.

Uhuh.

I used to have 3 or 4 FGS's which were my little "picket fleet" for doing stuff like fighting in CZs and doing BGS stuff.
I had to actually put some thought into where I deployed my big ships and where I could get away with using "lesser" ships.
These days it's just a case of spending a couple of hours mining to buy whatever you want.

My alt-account is less than a month old and I recently sunk the majority of my credits (~Cr150m) into a mining T10, did one trip with it and earned Cr240m.
So, my credit balance is restored and I have a T10 that can generate Cr240m whenever I need it, with 2 or 3 hours of completely risk-free play.

I did not know this.

Just something to note: The FAS owes it's usefulness to Military Slots, and MRPs. So too does the Alliance trio.

Are you sure? maybe I've got space dementia! could have sworn the class 3/4 slots were converted to mili ones.

I think the forums would still be in meltdown if that were the case..
Nope, they're bonus slots.

Anyone from Frontier should take note and make April 1st on the forum fun.

i.e

  • Return of the ADS
  • Module stacking banned
  • open only PP
  • Military slots now deleted from the game

plenty to take your pick at in an "official" announcement

*sinister laugh*
