I miss wars at 17 Draconis.

I miss logging in every day and checking the state and influence levels at 17 Draconis before doing anything else for the day.

I miss the "gold rush" feeling when we'd see the tick to "War."

Jump on Discord and everyone starts rushing up there.

Taking 200Mcr worth of missions and then killing 108 skimmers with dumbfires from a sidewinder was CLEARLY a bug and not the intended gameplay. Bravo for correcting that.

Taking 200Mcr worth of missions and then killing 108 ships in the conflict zone was great fun, great money, some degree of risk, required some flying skill, some outfitting skill, and a fair amount of engineering to be successful. While I really enjoyed it, I do understand why people might think this is too much money too fast. I'm ambivalent about reducing it to three missions at a time.

Taking 70-75Mcr worth of missions and then killing 108 ships in the conflict zone felt good to me. It's good money, but there is risk and it does require some combat skill and a well outfitted ship with some engineering OR a wing of guys working well together. Sure a wing of highly engineered PvE Corvettes would zip through those 108 ships fast. But at the same time a wing of Vultures would struggle and pay several rebuys before completing all of those missions. This felt about right to me.

Now, changing the gameplay to be 1 kill for 1 mission per kill, that makes sense, I don't dispute that, in fact, I like it.

That leaves people taking 108 kill missions for 23Mcr. That takes a while to complete. My FdL is all kinetic, so I have to go reload twice to complete a 108 ship mission. In a wing of four good ships we can do it fairly quickly, but in solo or trying to help a newer pilot, forget it. Depending on how far the station is, it could take an hour and a half or more to do 108 ships. Now compare that to hauling bulk passengers where people can make 100Mcr per hour pretty easily with virtually zero risk (I don't have guns on my pax Anaconda). Or Palin's Thargoid missions, again, really good money for rather low risk.

I'd like to see massacre missions buffed up a little bit. Not back to 150Mcr per hour, but if the 108 ship missions could be around 70Mcr I think it would make it more worth while to go participate.

Don't use an all-kinetic loadout for extended PvE.

That aside, I get what you mean. Apart from anything else it was kinda nice having somewhere that produced half expected PvP; you could join a side and be doing your business, and generally expect someone to drop in soon either on your side or the enemy side. Almost like a social war event...

Or maybe a....civil...war...hmm?

I miss the system being in a perpetual state of war. If I needed combat bonds for Bris or just wanted to sit and blow things up until I was sick of blowing things up, this was THE place.

And no, most of the time I didn't take any missions, I just went to the CZ's, picked a side, and blew things up. Made good credits on combat bonds and learned some decent combat skills. And there were always people on either side of the eternal conflict to talk to as well. Sure, I'd wager a large percentage of them were taking advantage of the monetary situation, and that's fine for them. I don't really care how somebody makes their credits, since it doesn't impact me in any way. It was just a good hang out spot for me, and far enough away from the rest of the bubble to be interesting.

I was just thinking this. It was such a great place. You could actually progress through combat at a reasonable pace. Credits rank AND fun. Now every get rich quick is point A to B again and again and again and again and again and again.

The Devs seek to create an environment of player cooperation through CGs all the time...But if a "Natural" CG occurs they seem all too eager to stomp it out.

I don't recall making money at 17 Draconis, I remember using all the money I farmed at Robigo slave smuggling runs or Quince to spam donation missions that yielded my spiffy Corvette rank.... so much money gone...
